Would you be upset if we traded J-Stew?

What are the chances we will be able to lock up J-Stew long term? It is likely because we locked up DeAngelo, J-Stew will eventually be playing for another team. (The only way I see these guys staying together is if J-Stew just want to stay here versus being paid as a number one guy) So would any of you be upset if we traded him to get a quality starter at cornerback and some draft picks?

I've wondered the same thing. I feel like at some point Stew is going to want to be the number 1 guy, and seeing how we just gave Williams a huge contract I don't see Stewart and Williams switching roles anytime soon. He has two years left on his contract so I wouldn't even think about it till next year. But if next year comes and he's not happy in the number two spot work out a trade package with someone so we can get some value for him instead of letting him walk in free agency.

But maybe he like being part of double trouble and being a back up and its not something to worry about. Who knows.

I agree, but the only thing about waiting another year is, what if he shows he's injury prone? That would definitely decrease his trading value. Yet people already know how good Jonathan is right now, and his value right now is pretty high. This may be the best time to trade him. Yet he may settle for less money and enjoy being apart of our double trouble package. If he likes that, then we should keep him.

I just can't support trading him this year. With the uncertainties at QB and WR we need a stable RB corps. With injuries on the o-line comes injuries to our RBs so we need a full stable of backs.

However next year we really do need to figure out something. He'll be in the last year of his contract, and I know he'll have interest from other teams. Can we justify giving two RBs big money contracts. Would Stew even want to stay and remain the number 2 back when he could have the chance to be a starter and pro bowler elsewhere. I love Stew and want him on the team but I'd rather our FO control the situation not the player.

    • I knew very little about this player before we drafted him. When I read scouting reports about him I understood the pick and thought it made sense as a late round receiver with speed and special teams ability but after watching him more closely and now adding his interviews into the equation I'm actually really excited about him. I know it's just RMC but I noticed him running his routes with this extra step that really stood out to me during the general video posted earlier without realizing who it was doing that.  His speed in his first cut is just on another level and it's visible. When I saw it I was **** whoa, who was that?! Then I saw Horn JR. and my first thought was oh it's him. I think it's very possible that he was under appreciated going into the draft due to his height and stats because he played at Colorado where the attention was on 2 other players but I think this dude's ceiling is way higher than most think it is. Especially after watching his interview. He looks hungry. I may have found my fav rook for this year's pre-season. I like pulling for underdogs anyway and as someone who played on the small side myself it just gives me more reason to cheer for him. The competition at WR looks like it's going to be fierce this season. I honestly can remember any preseason where I looked at out wr group and got past 3 players who I thought were interesting but this season I'm interested in at least 5 who have my attention going into the season.
    • Wilson should be getting called for at least 3 penalties a night even in the post season. How does he not lead the NHL in PM???
