How do fill hole in our roster or do we?

I see 3 areas we need to address.

CB- we need another starting cb but whos out there we can afford and are they better than the ones we have now?

DT- We signed a stop gap DT and he was injured. We drafted some young guys and given C Irvin a chance.Again I see no one out there that is much better than what we have.I dont think the likes of Tank Johnson is worth a roster spot

OT-Otah is really scaring me with his injuries. His recent knee swelling was totaly unexpected. His season ending injury was a shoulder. His presence or lack of will dictate how well we will run the ball.I have not seen who can replace his run blocking so we may need pick up someone as a stop gap if we can find one. This is a postion we need to fill given Otahs injury.

I guess it all depends on who becomes availible when the roster cuts begin but why bring in someone who is marginal at the risk of cutting a develomental player? We clearly do not have all the pieces to be conpetetive this year.

NT- Pat williams

Don't think we need a 3 Tech DT ,Irvin ,McClain are good enough

#2CB Hayden- Good zone coverage guy , decent against Man to Man( might not be Healthy)

OT L.Davis can play G too

2# WR Any big name that gets cut

RT and CB are our biggest concerns. DT is not far behind though and if we dont sure up RT we are in trouble.

On that note it would be just best to cut Otah and deal with that. He is not going to ever be healthy again if he cant get back at it with a year off.

We may have to live with our cb and dt but RT is something we need to address if we are to run the ball.Even if Otah were cleared to play this guy has 2 years of rust to dust off. If we do not establish a run it will be another long year for our 2 qbs.

    • The difference is about how much player input is allowed and encouraged in the decision making process. Top down teams tend to dictate to players how everything is handled. Disagreements are handled by the coach and players are expected to do what they are told regardless of what they think or feel.  Players are perceived as commodities to be used until we find better. In player led teams player input is encouraged and valued. Players and especially leaders are expected to settle their own disagreements and be accountable to the team but mostly to each other. Players are family to be appreciated and supported in their growth. Is the reality of football the same in both? Yeah there are limited positions, football is a business and winning is the bottom line. Coaches get final say and run the program because that is their job. But in player led teams they feel valued, appreciated, part of a larger whole. Most people who have worked at multiple jobs know exactly what I am talking about. When players try to run the show and don't value  coach input that isn't a player led team, that is a circus which we surely are familiar with in our past.
    • For our pics and trades tonight and tmrw.  Remember, Aho was a 2nd rounder and Slavin was a 4th rounder.
    • Seems to be the consensus from the talking heads. I really wish we had double dipped at center in the 2nd round. Sion will never play in the league.
