Panthers Plan to Contact Eagles

I hate all this "we're not winning anything now" approach. Is that what the Jets did with Sanchez? We cant be too conservative. You guys complained about the last coaching staff being conservative. Surround Cam with some talent on offense (which we did) and have a hard hitting turnover inducing defense.

Next year, Cam has a year under his belt. We can draft a Jeffrey or Blackmon. Get Ron Edwards back. And we're only a RG maybe RT and DT assuming McClain doesn't make strides away from being a force.

You got it all wrong NJP....its

1. Aso

2. Revis

3. Woodson

I 100% agree with that. I think Aso is better than Revis but living in NJ and working in NY I get killed even implying that. Revis is a god here, he is the Derek Jeter of Football in NY. I personally think Aso is a better player.

I was told today that the Panthers plan to ask the Eagles about Asante Samuel again. They are getting desperate at CB and will check in to see if they lowered their price. Munnerlyn might not even be the starter with the CBs we already have on the roster that is how underwhelming he has been.

If I am Carolina I would really think about giving up a 2nd for him, but would not touch my 1st round pick.

Is ur source or whatever tellin u that Munnerlyn is underperforming, i mean the man jus came back to practicing didnt he? i was under the impression that his skillset/size was always preferable to the nickel anyway.

As far as the money concern...have you guys seen what top corners are getting in free agency? If we were to try to lure one in through free agency its gonna cost to get a starter as good as Samuel.

edit: this is all I can find

Asante Samuel relayed the following message to Philly Sports Daily about the firing of defensive coordinator Sean McDermott:

“It’s unfortunate how this business works — the NFL. Sean is a good guy and a good coach. I wish him the best and I know he is determined to succeed.”

I don't want to see us give up any more low round picks. You don't only lose the pick, you pay a very high premium for the player's salary.

We are a young team and I would prefer we stay that way. Pick up a corner early in the draft next year to compete with Hogan. Both will be dirt cheap compared to Samuel, and while they probably won't be his equal, if we can bolster the D line, the difference may not be that noticeable.

We have too many needs to to all in this year. I think we still need to add a CB, DT and WR. Picking up players through cuts seems the best approach this year.
