We have a mod position open...

I'm a fan of less moderation as well and it's part of the reason this place has the following it does. I was admin at a much more ridid site and it drove the posters away. However, there has to be a happy medium and I think we generally maintain that here.

IMO, Mr Scot wasn't specific in his post and didn't single any one person out. The rules here are too loosely enforced as it is...and that's if you can come up with an agreement as to what the actual rules are.

I remember I tried to post seriously on the Atlanta board about us (the Panthers) WAYYYYY back, and it was horrible. IIRC, I got booted first post for telling them I was a Panthers fan.

To be a moderator is a challenging task believe it or not. Being able to tell the difference from trolling and an opinion is a must. Also being mindful of what you post makes a good moderator. When others see that you've broken the rules they feel like if he can do it so can i and that makes others feel as thoa they can do whatever they want now.

I'm humble to say that i could be one but i'm honest enough to say ive been a buthead from time to time. Two people that i think should be considered are catman and Mr Scot although i think they've been considered in the past.

Very wise post til the end. Mods should set the standard on what is posted here. There are a few I think would make great mods but I will reserve my opinion on who. I just hope it is someone who post alot in the Panthers forum.

I'm not involved in either, so I'll end my comments on the subject here.

So moderators only selectively apply their capabilities?

I'm not picking on you, I'm just attempting to show everyone for a lack of a better term that the fish rots from the head.

I believe this. And it shouldn't be like that. I embrace our competitions fans as long as they don't send me messages like "blow me like your momma did last night, n*gger."

I received one of these around 2:30 today.

It's good to get an outsiders opinion, smack talk as long as they keep it in perspective.

I hope whoever replaces squirrel is as unbiased and consistent as he was. Even if he agreed with you generally if you crossed the line he'd penalize you. That means no favoring one side or another. I think that if you've invested so much time in supporting one side you're contaminated and shouldn't be voted for, and that group of people includes me.

No, but there are hundreds of thousands of posts and if you think we see them all, you're kidding yourself.

I know what Mr. Scot said because I saw it in the infractions forum, but didn't feel like reading six pages of bickering and I don't know what other post you're referring to.

    • This play was never designed to go to either DJ or Odunze. The primary read is Burden who is stymied early, with the outlet being Kmet if Caleb doesn't like the option for Burden. Given the situation it's pretty obvious the simple play is to take the free yards with Kmet, or if you want to be aggressive just wait a beat longer for Burden to uncover on his double move. If Moore was ever going to be a viable target in this play then Caleb should have started out reading Odunze to hold the safety in the middle and then coming to Moore, but because he started the snap staring down the right and then came back to the middle late it made it where the safety's leverage remained to the outside of Moore, so he would never have imagined that pass actually being thrown to him in that situation. Realistically DJ's best option in that context is to just occupy the safety to leave a hole open for Caleb to get it to Burden, which is probably why he throttles down vs carrying the safety across.
    • Even with Sonny Styles still on the board I thought it's a no brainer to address the Oline after Icky's injury.  And how can you pass up Fano at 19 given our situation. Then the rest of the draft just kind of made sense with maybe the exception of Klubnik.  But if Canales can fix him and Young goes down. . .I think it's a solid pick. What do you think of this draft?
    • When we didn't trade him to the Rams or the Bears (I believe the Bears said they would take one of Brown/ Burns/DJ Moore) we should have just signed him and kept him.  We should have traded him to the Rams obviously and we should have kept DJ and traded Burns.  We made all three wrong choices with Burns lol.
