Question about the PUP list and Brandon Hogan.

From what I heard he was almost ready by the end of training camp but they wanted to be safe with him. SMH because its so funny that they didnt let Beason wait another week but that game started streak was more important and we see how that turned out.

They took all the right measures on Beason. He was cleared to play and felt like he was 100 percent. Nobody could have known that would have happened. Not even you. He could have waited and gone out in week 2 against the Packers. You just never know what is going to happen sometimes. Also, Hogan is a rookie and not projected to be a starter. He probably needed more practice anyways before game experience. Beason is a captain and the leader of the defense. They are completely different situations.

Beason said he hadn't ran in MONTHS! When he tore his Achilles that was his first time going full speed in a while.

There was a special boot to be put on his ankle, but wasn't there in time when it was time to leave for AZ. I understand Beason wanted to be out there. Really cant blame the training staff, but how could you not expect that after he hasn't ran in MONTHS?

You can't blame anyone. As a captain and team leader you have to leave it up to Beason. If he says he is ready then he is. He knows his body better than anyone else. And it isn't like he was sitting on the couch eating potato chips. I was actually doing a lot of rehab and strength training. I can't say I wish he would have waited longer to come back because he could have come back anytime and gotten hurt. You can't always know when your body is truly ready sometimes and you certainly don't know when or how injuries will happen.

Cant wait to see Hogan out there...our team looks solid for years to come.

Beason has to get well however but now linebacker is a need on our team in 2012. Achillies tears have a way of fuging up a sports career.

Even with Beason back we need depth and possibly a new LOLB.

Gamble actually being allowed to shadow guys instead of the 10 yrd drop back in a cover 2 has rejuvinated him..if Hogan can at least be a Captian Munnerlyn in a 6'1 frame id be happy.

Follow your team a little closer homie...Brandon Hogan is listed at 5'10", 192lbs.

I keep hearing that Hogan's fast agile and has good balance. Cant wait to see him matchup with some ballers to see how he does. Amazing how a potential 1st can end up in the 4th for an injury that wont even sideline him for the whole season. . . . look at what we got in Hardy, damn son, a Gorilla unchained!

Interesting that Bowers still went in the first.

    • As long as Morgan is the GM, Young will be the QB. Young is 100% Morgan's guy. The contract extension is pretty much guaranteed unless Young suffers a career ending injury this season.
    • People really need to stop placing Dan Morgan on some kind of infallible pedestal. He is absolutely in lockstop with Tepper regarding Bryce and has been all along. As far as the team being okay with 185 passing yards per game. We better have a proven monster RB in our backfield then. Presently that guy is not on the roster. Chuba has one outlier season so far and the other guys have proven nothing. Not what you would call a great recipe. The only thing we can hope at this juncture is that the highest paid OL in the league for the second year in a row elevates their play from last season and opens up some massive holes even our RB's can get through. But it still doesn't resolve the issue of predictability. With no viable passing game it is much easier to shut down any run game. No defenses are scared of Bryce's arm. It is what it is.
    • i lived in Atlanta from 84'to 92' & back then it was indeed a very different time without the internet & access to information 24/7. shortly after i moved back home to western NC around 93' or 94' the Carolina Panthers were awarded an NfL franchise & began their inaugural season in 95' so ike you i have seen the Carolina Panthers, ,the NFL ,technology, fans all evolve over the many a moon & years now some for the better & others not so ...just saying
