Rivera presser

i agree the punt was idiotic. You kick that one out of bounds or sky high. You don't punt to Hester in the center of the field.

He said the plan was to kick it sky high, with a knuckling action so it would hang up in the air...

It just didn't work out like that.

I was just thinking after our game yesterday, just imagine what our offense would've gone after a guy like Boldin (not that he did much last night)... But, imagine having Boldin opposite Smitty, with Gettis and LaFell behind them.

That #2 WR spot has been hurting us forever... Thought we finally had a solution with Gettis and he gets knocked out for the year in TC. Really disappointing.

The sad part is that although Steve is still proving to be a beast, who knows how much longer he can compete at that level. We talk about trying desperately to find a #2 receiver, when in all actuality, we need to find another starter within a few years. Here's hoping Gettis can come back at 100% of what he was when he was a rook...If he can't, I wouldn't be surprised to see us grab a WR with our first next year, provided they know how Gettis is gonna look. Easier to get a productive DT in the second round than a productive receiver. Much easier transition.

Funny thing is I was just over at the Broncos forum to see what people thought of ole Foxy. He said yesterday he thought their offensive performance against GB was "very impressive". People there already want him gone. Hahaha... so glad we have Rivera here now.

    • Number 9  Carolina Panthers  Bryce Young, the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, produced career highs in completion percentage (63.6%), passing yards per game (188.2) and passing touchdowns (23) in 2025. However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down. He threw for the third-fewest passing yards by a quarterback to make the playoffs in the last 20 seasons, per CBS Sports Research.  FEWEST PASSING YARDS BY QB TO REACH PLAYOFFS, LAST 20 SEASONS (MIN. 16 STARTS) PASSING YARDS PLAYOFF WINS 2012 Christian Ponder (MIN) 2,935 0 2008 Joe Flacco (BAL) 2,971 2 2025 Bryce Young (CAR) 3,011 0 2006 Steve McNair (BAL) 3,050 0 2019 Josh Allen (BUF) 3,089 0 Young did deliver some high highs, like when he threw for a franchise-record 448 yards passing in a Week 11 overtime win at the Atlanta Falcons and when he went toe-to-toe with Stafford in the playoffs in a 34-31 defeat.  Kenny Pickett couldn't win the Cleveland Browns' quarterback competition a year ago, and Will Grier is a career backup. • This is why we need the Bank of America Stadium Ballroom.
    • That thread has all the huddle legends either posting in it or mentioned in it. I remember everyone of those folks and I truly miss seeing them post here. This place was so much better with them here.
