A few thoughts I feel compelled to share.

This meltdown is utterly ridiculous.

Losing sucks...however, how about acting like a fan and applying a little logic.

A fan understands that a young team...and a young coaching staff, even one with talent and possibly great potential, may need time to develop.

(There are a few significant injuries on this team, by the way).

Let's trust in The Plan, even if we do not like the short term.

Because we are fans, we need to support this team. Give them a fair chance. That extends into the future. Any success now is just a bonus.

Remember how just a couple of months ago most people thought this team, with new coaches, and a new system, had no chance because of the lockout? What happened to that perspective?

If the posts on this forum are representative of the fanbase, then we seem immature and pretty unsophisticated.

Let's grow up guys. Let's support our team through some growing pains and believe they will lead to something good. If they don't, then there will be a time to be critical. But I believe the negativity, panic, and trashing of our coaching staff now is very premature. It is also a little embarrassing.

You're preaching the the choir here. :cam:

The wins will come... I mean look how close we are. Frustration just gets the best of people. It does get annoying, but I can understand letting most fans vent to an extent. But when people start saying stuff like Rivera is a bad coach or we shouldn't have drafted cam or we're never gonna be good... well that's just crazy talk and absurd.

I haven't seen this thread before, almost after every damn loss it's "The wins will come" please stop trying to console the fans who are tired of losing.

Everyone is tired of losing. We're all in the same boat here whether you want to rip certain players/coaches or stand by them. But you can't lose sight of things. No one is trying to sugarcoat anything, but the situation is definitely not dire.

I would MUCH rather build an actual winning program here instead of just some dumbass quick pleasure year like the 11-5 Dolphins had after their 1-15 season or something like that. And then they went back to poo soon after. Instant success isn't always a good thing... Josh McDaniels for another example.

I know you don't need me to tell you all this. You're smart. But a lot of Panthers fans do need the reminder that the future is bright.

They will stop when the "rivera sucks!" "mac sucks!" "chud sucks!" and various other absurd threads stop.

There are plenty of people here who want to be doom and gloom. There are also plenty who understand what this season is and accept it. Both parties get tired of each other. This thread wouldn't be necessary if morons didn't make threads acting like the world is over. Players/coaches DO read these boards. Do you really want to be representative of a fan base who demands more than ANYBODY could bring?

Belichick had 1 good season in Cleveland. 1. He then followed that one playoff run (in 5 seasons) with his worst year as a head coach up to that point. The Peyton Manning parallel has been drawn before, you know that one. The fact is, we're young and inexperienced. Quit demanding wins from a team like this and enjoy the ride.

I haven't seen this response before , almost after every damn loss it's "can't you see that I told you how much we suck????" Please stop trying to crap on fans who are trying to remain positive when a franchise experiences a sea change in leadership and personnel.

Also, I will continue to support this team, but I will NOT be okay after losing. No matter who the coach is, or who the QB is, or who who we're 'missing' on defense.

Nobody is OK with losing. Venting is fine. However, when people start calling for staff to be fired or certain players to be benched, given our circumstances, it is annoying to sift through pages of threads. I'm as pissed as anybody after a loss. Which is why I refrain from this board until late that night or the next day when I've had time to process everything and NOT be a dumbass.

I also said losing sucks. No one has wanted this team to win more than me. I have believed we could win every game. You missed my point.

Then I suggest sticking to Madden, you can have winning season after winning season all in a couple of weeks.

This meltdown is showing how young our fan base really is and some need a spanking*...

*only women need apply.

    • Everyone knew the catch was secured and didn't move. That was clear to the entire audience. The only ones who thought it wasn't a catch were in the NYC home office. They knew they'd just offer an apology the next day.
    • NEVER FORGET!!!!   Canales was on no one's radar. Tepper couldn't get anyone to come here. He was all in on Ben Johnson. Nobody wants to work with Tepper, however Canales tenure may prove important for the next guy. This guy still has no idea what he's doing.
    • The 4th down play was poor execution by Chuba. He didn't want to get physical like Rico and cut North South to lean on his blocks from Tremble and Ekwonu for half a yard. Also, the 3rd down play before that Bryce audibled out to a QB run and almost got the 1st down was on Chuba for not knowing the play call leading to poor execution. You can see Chuba's confusion when Bryce had to realign him. Then Chuba thought he was getting the handoff and was slow to develop his double team on the DE with Tremble. Then Chuba hesitated on pushing the block and just ran to the sideline making Bryce have to loop around him. This pulled the DE away from Tremble forcing Chuba to chip on the DE late and leaving the safety as a free defender. Chuba was suppose to double down on the DE to let Tremble peel off to the safety. This allows Bryce to set up his run to the inside or outside after the safety commits. You can also see Tremble walk over to talk to Chuba after the play and Chuba shrugs which tells me he didn't know what to do. The audible would have worked on 3rd and the dive would have worked on 4th. The plays were good calls and drawn up well. The question is why was Chuba unprepared for those plays in two critical back to back plays? I like Chuba as a 1st down RB and passing downs, but I have always seen him lacking the power and vision to be a short yardage power back. Chuba didn't come prepared for the Saints game or he was thrown into a position at the 3 spot that he was never prepared for.
