I was looking up stuff the other night and came across this...

The second link has a scouting report which names off a lot of positives he had coming out, and a few negatives, but overall, he sounded like he had a lot of potential and I had forgotten that he ran a 4.60 in the 40 at the combine. Pretty athletic guy.

I liked him coming out and wondered what happened to him in Baltimore. But by the time we picked him up, I thought he was just an extra body because he hadn't done anything yet.

BUT, he looked good from what I saw of him in the ATL game (edit: I only remember seeing him on a goal line series and one other play though).

he got owned on that FB touchdown in the flats. Bit hard on the run fake inside, and gave up the edge... weak. He sucks.

LOL, I just remember him popping Turner to prevent a TD, but that sounds about right. I didn't look at who gave up the fudgepacker's TD.

But, there was a reason he didn't make it in Baltimore, so that makes sense.

Oh well, it's not like we've been playing any better otherwise. I have very little hope for this defense.

Jez, we suck balls at D. Same thing every year, whatever this board is confident in going into season.....never works out to be a strength. Last year O was suppose to be good, this year D was suppose to be good.

at some point we are going to need Newton and Smitty to just play defense too. Newton DT and Smitty OLB. I am sure they played some D in high school or middle school....just like how Armanti played WR.

and yes I am 99.9% jokie.

but that .1% I am dead serious.

Am I the only one that has all of these generically named scrub linebackers as interchangeable in their mind? If you were to ask me one difference between Thomas Williams, Jason Williams, and Jason Phillips, I would have absolutely no clue except they all have slightly different names.

Thomas Williams at least lays people out, that's how I remember him.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
