Those are your playmakers. These are the guys whose numbers you call for the ball to go to when you're up by one possession. Screens to your backs, send them out in the flats, poo like that

These are not your playmakers

Also DeAngelo is not great running north/south, use Stewart when you want to go up the middle.

Also LaFell is clutch and should at least be the 2nd WR on third downs in 2 WR sets. I don't know if Naanee has converted a third down the entire season.

true story minnesota ranks 2nd in defensive line efficiency against runs up the middle

so why exactly are you running a speedy back (who looks his worst running up the middle) up the middle

play to your strengths and their weaknesses, not the other way around, especially in a one possession game in the 2nd half

Don't forget 11; he stepped up on 4th and 15.

EDIT - my bad, I see you mentioned him in the text, but not by number.

if we had a WR with LaFell's talent and Naanee's grasp of the playbook we wouldn't be talking about Jeffery, Blackmon or Floyd in the draft forum.

Guest Day24Day7

I completely AGREE with this thread.

This game was not lost on the missed FG ... It was lost in the 3rd qrtr:

-The panthers had just scored.

-Viks go 3 & out

-The very next Panther possession ... The plays called are CONSERVATIVE. It's like Rivera and the OC thought we were up by 28. It's like they were trying to kill time off the clock. IMO ... T-h-a-t was the possession the lost us the game. Even 1 deep pass (over 20) would have at least stretched the field and 'maybe' help open up some running lanes.

-Everything after that possession was down hill until that last drive.

-I don't know. I'm not trying to 2nd guess the coaches. I just noticed that Most of the Winning Teams ... Beat You in the 3rd Quarter.

If they are losing, they start their comeback in the 3rd. That puts them in a position to win (and give them momentum) for the 4th.

If the score is close at half time: They outscore and take over the game in the 3rd. By the 4th quarter a FG or TD just seals the deal.

But what do I know? It's just an observation.

Good Post ...

You did see that Stew was dinged up (bad ankle) for part of the game?

Despite that Stew had 13 runs to DWill's 7.

They both averaged just under 4 yards per carry.

That is all.

    • To be fair, I kind of like Bo but he was BAD this past weekend.
    • What I noticed was Tmac running free on deep routes a lot. Can we just get PJ or Hooker to throw go routes on every play for the rest of the season? It would be more exiting than this current mess.
    • We're all aware of the frustrating Week 1 for Carolina, but there's reasons to see Arizona as a possible get-right game. While this will be Zona's home opener (requiring the team to travel out west), they were barely able to hold on to a lead against the hapless Saints who got a chance to tie the game up with 2min left that ended at the ARI 18. Kyler Murray was 21/29 with 2 passing TDs but for only 163yds (5.6yd AVG) and a QBR of 50.9 (RTG 108.8). He was also sacked five times for 33yds. Meanwhile, Spencer Rattler went 27/46 and was sacked just once for 6yds. Kyler also carried the ball seven times for 38yds. James Conner struggled to get going (12 carries, 39yds) but Trey Benson had a good day thanks to a 52yd scamper (8 carries, 69yds). Arizona has weapons in MHJ and McBride, but the CBs have been playing well enough for McBride to be the true focus of the defense. MHJ had a good game though against the Saints, so hopefully Jaycee + Mike Jackson can disrupt that connection. The Cardinals also aren't a disciplined team... with an opportunity to put the Saints away they gave up a TFL and a holding penalty before having the field goal attempt blocked. Their OL suuuuucks at run blocking and got better pass blocking from their TEs in week 1 than they did from any OL except for Paris Johnson Jr. Isaiah Adams and Hjalte Froholdt especially had issues as did Jonah Williams. If the Panthers' revamped DL can't get pressure against them it might be worth giving the alarm a pull.
