After half way through the season, if you was to double McDermotts stats

(I know thats a bad way to do this but lets just say.)

I know alot of us was Ron Meeks fans last year, What defense would you rather have now?

do you think our record would be better with meeks calling plays?

Or do you like McDermotts Risky blitz defense better and why?

Not a decent comparison. That was Meek's second year in the same system. McDermott is on his first year with no offseason to install things. Plus Beason was a huge loss this year.

Lets compare McDermott's stats at the end of next year with Meeks stats for 2010 and then you have a decent comparison.

Otherwise go back and compare the first 8 games of 2009 to the first 8 games this year and you have a better comparison.

Last year, the defense really turned it on in the second half. This D will improve in time, but right now I feel they they are below last year's D.

You have to remember that last year's D looked really bad in the second half of every game simply because the offense could not stay on the field. This year, the offense is helping the D out quite a bit by creating some long drives.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
