Players only meeting?

Is it necessary this year? or should something like that be used only on years where we know were a playoff team but something isnt right. Personally i would say no .

To be successful I think it'd have to be a conglomerate of players. We still *could* go

8-0, but if that were to happen IMO, I think it'd take something out of the norm to spark it.

Like a previous poster said, it could have already happened and we don't know about it.

I think someone like Shockey (yes, Shockey - he's new to us, but he's a vet with two rings and from what I've read, he's really going the extra mile to be a leader) or Smitty could do it for the Offense, but I don't know if there's a Defense player who has the rep to do it at the moment. Of course, just because Beason and Davis are on IR doesn't mean they couldn't call it. They have certainly been invested in helping the D get better however they might.

team is signifcantly better than last year......is dealing w/ massive injuries on D and plugging new bodies into a scheme that is new to begin with......

no reason for a players only meeting.....Carolina has been more competitive than anyone in the NFL would have believed heading in

Not sure if we have a leader out there who could pull such a thing off with Beason being on IR. Cam is still a rookie and does not have the clout yet. Gross maybe could.

Gross pulled 40-45 players together during the lockout to hold practices.. Gross could def do it.

    • It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?
    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
