ESPN saying Tebow is first to run option this year, indicating John Fox is a genious

I think Fox just wants to win and this is the best chance they have to win with The Golden Calf of Bristol at the helm.

the last thing Fox wants to do is win games right now.....I am sure he thought Denver would be 0-3 by now with The Golden Calf of Bristol thus quieted Denver fans.

Problems doesn't look to be going away

I said just a couple weeks ago that teams are going to start using these offenses more and more over the next several years. The Golden Calf of Bristol and Cam are guys leading the way for more teams to transition to more of these type offenses so they can take advantage of the great athletes playing the QB position in college.

*toots my horn* :)

The difference is Cam run option was frowned upon by the same folks who are now saying it's perfect for The Golden Calf of Bristol and Fox is a genius.

Plus I thought Cam's run first option was part of his ammo, not because he lack the ability to throw accurately.

Combined 5-11

Take that, NFL.

I have read the article twice now. Where did they say they are the first? With this quote?

Still, Fox admitted that this type of offensive attack hasn't been tried in the NFL "to the exact level where we're kind of at right now."

If you don't want to read the whole article, like the OP, they said nobody has run it like the Broncos, who are doing the Read Option, like the college style Option attack, as their base offense.

Most teams run a small set of plays out of the Option and rarely throw it. This was just somebody looking for something to make a thread about.

The Golden Calf of Bristol is 2-1 as a starter. He's teh awesomeist!!11!

Our offense the read option is being used just as a wrinkle. Oh yeah and our offense is pretty darn good right now.

He is 3-3 as a starter for his career if you count the 1-2 he went last season. But, he also went 5 TDs to just 3 INTs last season. 6 TDs and 1 INT this season so he is 11 TDs to 4 INTs. Not bad through his first six games as a starter.

The Golden Calf of Bristol is going to be an interesting QB to watch. Denver going to this option offense is going to be a neat thing to watch develop and see if it can be successful in the NFL.

    • I'm trying to be as pragmatic and as un reactionary as possible. And once again multiple things can be true  His draft last year was disastrously terrible. X looks like an absolute bust. Brooks hasn't played. Wallace looks like a miss. But demani needs more pt, cws is solid and Coker has shown promise This draft cannot be judged after 2 games esp with a dc who doesn't want to play them. But tmac looks legit. Princely has promise. The rest is a ?  Has he made mistakes? Undoubtedly.  Is the roster better than it was 2 years ago? I'd say yes. I'd say our biggest problems are still the ones we had 2 years ago - Bryce and evero.  And as I've said before, at least he hasn't traded any future picks. Yet.  So IMHO Morgan is a mixed bag but not a total bust. Yet.
    • I'd rather have a raffle to pick a random fan to start at QB than see Bryce trot out there again. That actually sounds wildly entertaining. I'd actually MUCH rather have that. LOL
    • I think being out on Dan is shortsighted; here are the two immediate reasons that stick out to me. 1) Inherited a grossly undersized QB with no real tangible physical traits that offset his size that the prior offensive staff did not want, who appears to be an all-time bust. Bryce isn't ''elite'' in any physical category, athleticism, arm strength, nothing, even his ''superpower'' aka his processing, does not show up. Not to mention that he is in his 3rd year and is still built like an HS senior. 2) The roster was terrible, the fact that we have halfway established some depth on both sides of the ball is commendable considering we are at the top of his 2nd year at the helm; we have not seen bad contracts handed out, and we've seen relatively smart trades. Even the Thielen one, because he's 35 and we got 4th round value for a guy who was not part of the long-term plans, did we miss him these past two games...sure. However, we were not a playoff team with him anyway.
