Peter King list Carolina among teams that may be interested in Cutler

As if on cue, Chris Mortensen is also speculating on "Peppers for Cutler"

Worth noting though that Mortensen was at least smart enough to add a disclaimer to his discussion, saying "I'm just thinking out loud here. I have no indication that they'd actually be interested."

I jsut heard that too.

It "makes sense" so now its news as far as the 4-letter goes.

The deal is bad for both teams as far as 2009 goes and his speculations still include a 3rd team in effort to add a bit of credibility.

Not gonna happen. It's not like the Panthers could pursue it anyway

Wow, Rayzor, are you aware that your use of logic makes you homosexual (see tags)? LOL

awesome.

i don't agree with them so they attack.

small minds.

And they hate being called the LUNATIC FRINGE? Imagine that.

hmmm...tags are gone.

silly things. i never look at them. they have been a joke ever since they showed up on the new huddle.

zod tried stopping their misuse at the beginning but i guess it didn't work.

only used by people who are too scared to say something and take credit for it. even more anonymous than online personnas.

he is speculating...reaching.

he used the phrase "likely to be interested" for several teams and then had to add the "possibly" tag to carolina.

it's all an assumption based on nothing but a hunch that he has.

writing junk like that doesn't make you reputable. it makes you just another talking head trying to throw crap on the wall to see if it sticks.

Hi job is to report hard facts AND GIVE HIS OPINION. Anyone with decent reading comprehension can understand that "possibly" is far from a sure thing or a hard fact.

I recall long before it was confirmed that he was quoted as saying "Farve is done, write it down" and sure enough it became true weeks later.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
