I think the point is that Kasay and Mare are about equal, and we paid a lot more for Mare. The game announcer said that Mare has missed more field goals than any kicker in the league. Also, he is the only NFC kicker to miss an extra point. If thats true, we definitely aren't getting our money's worth. Fwiw, I was wanting us to spend a draft pick on a kicker. Might have been a better move in the long run. And in the short run.

exactly my point. Doesn't matter he missed 40 yarders the past 3 consecutive weeks. After that 52 yarder went through the uprights....it landed in a Delorean and the ball and Doc went back and time and erased his closer misses from time. Just another reason Kasay is awesome and Mare is Legadu's white cousin.

Kasay costs the team an extra roster spot....

Mare hasn't missed more than anyone....Kasay for example has more missed kicks.

Also, Mare extra point was blocked.

You may wanna check the stats before stating he doesn't suck. The guy had 5 seasons in the 70 FG percentage range. Which is why Miami let him go. He's in the 70's now. That's 6 seasons now total now in the 70s. Kasay has only been in the 70s 3 times in his career and been in the league 6 years longer.

And that is really the sum of it.....Kasays past makes him believed to be better than he now is.

No team came calling for Kasay when Carolina cut him.....he only got a job when a starter went down.

Kasay already has missed 3 kicks inside the 50 just barely past the halfway mark....Kasay is on pace to miss the most kicks inside the 50 in his LONG NFL career......by a fair margin

The fact is we paid 12m for a glorified kickoff specialist when the fact is we didn't need one.. we could have had a much better kicker than him so chalk it up to hurney for being a dumbass yet again.
