Top 5 reasons why the Panthers will beat Detroit

Alot of people think we wont beat Detroit. But I'm going to give you 5 good reasons why we will beat Detroit.

1. Detroit is overrated Their wins have come against TB (a team that is not very good), KC (a team that lost by 28 points to the Miami Dolphins), Minn (They had to overcome a 20 point deficit to beat a god awful Minnesota Vikings team), Dal (Tony Romo gave them that game. They were getting blown out, until Tony Romo threw two pick 6s to let them back in the game), Chi (solid win), Den (Denver turned the ball over alot). So they only have one impressive win. They are not as good as their 6-3 record indicates.

2. Panthers are underrated We all know that the Panthers are not as nearly bad as their 2-7 record indicates. We should of beaten Arizona, our defense blew alot of coverages that led to their touchdowns and a special teams mistake that allowed patrick peterson to score the game winning touchdown. We should of beaten Chi, Cam threw a pick six, we missed a FG, we had a FG blocked, our coaching staff make a mistake by kicking to Devin Hester and he returned it for a touchdown, we had a TD pass to Jeremy Shockey called back because of a bad offensive pass interference call. They Bears didnt beat us, we beat ourselves. You can make a strong argument that we should of beaten ATL, NO, GB, and MINN. But I'm not going to get into that.

3. Lions may look past us They have games with GB and NO next.

4. Matt Stafford is banged up Matt Stafford throwing finger is banged up. All we need to do is stop the run and force him to beat us.

5. The Lions are ranked 29th against the run We have two good running backs. We should be able to run the ball effectively, which will open things up in the passing game for Cam.

#1 & #2 We are what our record says, I'm tired of the whole we are better than our record. They are the better team. I don't care who is overrated or underrated.

#3 They just got a beatdown from the bears, they are not going to overlook us. They need a win desperately to stay in the playoff hunt.

#4 With our defense, Stafford could be on crutches and we would still find a way for him to beat us.

I agree with #5. Our rushing attack might be effective.

until the panthers can prove they are better than their 2-7 record, they deserve it and they own it.

overrated...underrated...you either win or you don't. doesn't matter how the wins come as long as they do.

the rest of it i tend to agree with, but i'm not sold. lions have a short week after this game against a division team. the thursday night game will be much more important than our game, esp. since it comes on T-day.

matt stafford might struggle, but despite his tendency to get hurt a lot...the dude is a warrior. i've got a lot of respect for him in that regard.

true about their run D, but ours is worse. much worse. the only thing is, they've got pretty much crap for RBs right now. the guy that is going to be getting the bulk of carries against us (maurice morris) is 32 years old and has been a lifetime backup for a reason. he just isn't that good. the guy that they just brought in that will be their #2 guy is kevin smith...who they cut in march and just brought back.

where their RBs could get us, though, is in the passing game. first, kevin smith was bumped up ahead of keiland williams this week primarily because he's decent in pass protection. secondly, they use their RBs quite a bit in the passing game...an area that we have a tendency to suck in stopping. against TEs and RBs, our defense is ranked among the worst in the league.

the key for us is in cam just getting the ball out quicker and on defense, letting gamble shut down megatron and the rest of the defense just not making stupid mistakes.

Detriot is not going to over look us.

How can anybody think that, when they are chasing the packers and the bears in their division?

Don't know what is gonna happen on Sunday, but it will be sweet to watch the Pack roll all over them on Thanksgiving while eatin' some turkey :D

I do love the optimism, but lets get a reality check...

Detroit is far from overrated, Their defensive front 7 is one of the better units in the league ( i said better, far from pitt, bal,NYJ impressive but you get the idea), Yes their dbacks suck the fatty. The panthers lost those games because of themselves, no one else. We all know what we are lacking both on offense and defense, considering we cannot fix those issues mid-season we have to work with what we got.

Lions will definitly not look past us, they are actually kinda hot this year so they are looking to get as many wins as possible to finally get out of that loser mentality. Even if they dont make the playoffs, they are just a few odds and ends from being a SERIOUS contender, as are we.

Stafford is a major part of their offense ( as is any quarterback ), so him being injured in anyway shape or form is a +1 on our part. Seeing how it is his finger on a throwing hand, we could get lucky and have some balls that could have been bullets turn into ducks and flop into our defenders hands.

Our Run Offense will only take off if we just keep feeding stew the ball. Deangelo clearly isnt on his poo this year so lets give it to the monster. Cam shouldnt look to run, because im sure Suh, fairley, and Vandenbosh are looking to give him a nice crack once he pops outta the pocket.

All in all im keeping my fingers crossed for a miracle, even though i say the same thing every week and im always dissapointed.

    • Canales is in the middle of the most critical point of his Panthers tenure: The 2nd half of the 2nd season. Looking back here is how the other head coaches performed to this point and how their time here pivoted. Dom Capers First 26 Games: 13-13 2nd Half of 2nd Season: (1996) won final 7 games to win division, took Panthers to NFC Championship Game. Final Record/Accomplishments: 30-34; NFC West Division Title-1996 George Seifert First 26 Games: 12-14 2nd Half of 2nd Season: (2000) Finished 3-3 with mixed results in games; finished 1-15 the following season. Final Record/Accomplishments: 16-32; None. John Fox First 26 Games: 15-11 2nd Half of 2nd Season: (2003) corrected the season after a strong start and mid-year stumble to win division, Won NFC Championship Game. Final Record/Accomplishments: 73-71; (1) Conference Championship; (3) Playoff Appearances; (2) Division Titles. Ron Rivera First 26 Games: 8-18 2nd Half of 2nd Season: (2012) Won 5/6 remaining games; finished 12-4 following season and won division. Final Record/Accomplishments: 76-63-1; (1) Conference Championship; (4) Playoff Appearances; (3) Division Titles; (2) COY Awards Matt Rhule First 26 Games: 10-16 2nd Half of 2nd Season: (2021) Lost final 7 games in a row, terminated 5 games into following season. Final Record/Accomplishments: 11-27; None. Dave Canales First 26 Games: 10-16 2nd Half of 2nd Season: TBD Final Record/Accomplishments: TBD The writing was on the wall at the end of Rhule and Seifert’s 2nd season, while Capers, Fox, and Rivera all finished strong and rallied. To be fair, Capers 1997 and 1998 seasons weren’t great, but he was faced with adversity and still managed to leave with at least one successful season...thanks to the second half of his 2nd season.
    • There are always a few head scratcher calls a game on us.  That was bshit
    • Honestly unless the Packers WR in the end zone was disqualified from tackling, he was literally right behind him ready to tackle him at the 5 yard line. Probably better he dropped it field position wise unless people think Mike Jack has Ted Ginn speed or something.
