How many of you expected the opposite of how this year turned out?

Hired a defensive head coach, Rookie QB and re-signed Deangelo to a big deal.

At the start of the season i was thinking we would play excellent defense and run the ball alot while we let our rookie QB grow.

but it turned out the almost exact opposite, passing alot more then we run and our defense being terrible even with injurys our defense has played terrible, Ron Rivera had a great defense in San Diego with alot of no bodys i was expecting alot more on that side of the ball.

With alot of our core players coming back next year Gettis, Beason etc i happen to think we will spend almost all of our top picks on defensive players.

Do you think next year we will turn into more of a run/defensive team or stay a scoring team?

I didn't expect anything until I saw Cam hooking up with Smith in the Cardinal game. After that, I expected to fight for a wildcard spot if not win the division outright. Yet now we are back at the bottom of the barrell.

I predicted 4 wins before AZ.

After the AZ game, and around week 3, I had the hope you are referring to above. I guess that is what makes these losses so effing hard to watch....

At least last year, I could laugh at Jimmy and the rest of our team tanking our season with the excitement of having the #1 overall pick. By the end of last season, I was routing for the Panthers to loose out just so we could lock up the first overall pick.

I had a ton of optimism, but now I feel very deflated as a fan. I just can't settle for us loosing anymore games.

I expected the same thing, but then I also expected us to add a DT once Edwards went down, and thought we would bring in someone like Carlos Rogers. Maybe a 2nd wideout as well (no, not Naanee, a legitimate WR). Once it was clear we were standing pat, it was hard to be terribly optimistic.

I still think we will win 2 more games, maybe 3, to get at least a little momentum going into next year.

We'll see.

    • He’s been every bit as much of the problem as anyone else. You cant remove him from that fact, he is just as much part of the team and in THE most important position on the field. But this is the first season he’s seen any kind of continuity in his team and coaches. And he’s shown flashes here and there. But we do need more out of him going forward a lot more if we are going to be successful
    • Bryce isn’t great and super mid. But I think can be a game manager. What do we think is out there? Daniel Jones isn’t going anywher. Mac Jones? Zach Wilson? Pickett. I’m just not sure what’s out there that is much better without having to give up a ton of capital. Rather take one more step closer to contention with our early rounders next year with FS and LB help. Make this  place where dang they got a defense and a WR1 and solid RB room. I can win with that and want to be here
    • AR15 is if Justin Fields was fragile and his teammates hated him. No thanks. Ya'll think you hate watching Bryce Young? Wait until your QB can't even complete a 7 yard pass over the middle, which Fields and Richardson can't do. If the draft class was better, I could absolutely see the Titans moving on from Ward already if they got the #1 pick. But so far the college QB's haven't impressed enough. They'll have flashes, but then follow it up with a very meh game. Kyler is already done in Arizona, but he has a ridiculous contract and he's basically Bryce that likes to scramble, so no thanks. If Lawrence can't produce with that team in Jacksonville, what do you think he'll do here? He's tall Bryce who can throw deep but can't make the 4th down throws and crumbles in the red zone. No thanks. I do think Canales wants to move on from Bryce, his body language says so even in wins. He treated Bryce pretty odd this week and Bryce looked checked out in the Packers game. But unless they make another risky trade, its going to be slim pickings. Basically our hopes lie in hitting early in the draft with a Mateer, Nussmeier, Beck type or finding a random backup free agent that has another gear to hit.  I think even with the draft being wishy washy, 4-5 QB's will be taken in the top 7. A lot of teams are just that desperate.
