How's Gettis doing?

Remember the old saying..."Absence makes the heart grow fonder"?

That applies to Gettis. People are building him up to be something he isn't. He is still very much an unproven WR. To me, it is risky going into next year assuming he will be our 2nd WR.

EXACTLY. Gettis has now turned into the most overrated player on the team. Gettis had 2 legit good games last year.....2. You know how many rookies can show up for 2 games and never really amount to anything??

Gettis can run the deep stuff simple b/c he had speed. LaFell last year looked much more athletic, went up for the ball better, and ran all the other routes better outside the deep go.......yet Gettis is going to comeback and be capable of being the #2 and potentially replacing Smitty.

The funny thing about this board is that people take complements to the extreme.

Hey the kid did well last year= OMFG people act like he is the next Steve Smith.

or

The kid put up some good numbers last year= NU uh he was lucky and it does not count.

Its like some people want to hate every player on this team!

Im just happy we have some players with potential and look forward to them progressing in the future.

in fairness, a lot of people haven't just paid Gettis compliments.....they basically did the same thing that was done w/ Pilares. Inked him in the offense as X......when you can't justify it.

Gettis was a 6th rounder for a reason and we saw that last year (people just forget). He has speed....lacks a lot of the other stuff to make you are complete WR. End of the year many were talking LaFell might be > Gettis.....now people act like Gettis is on a different level than LaFell too much

I think what most people are saying is that if he can produce in Davidson's system imagine what he could do in Chuds. Both LaFell and Gettis produced in Davidson's system so people are excited to see what can happen when both are back to form. I mean its not an unreasonable assumption when you see how horrid Davidson's system was.

    • I had everything saved on an old email address and my computer crashed and could not be revived.  I tried reviving it, then stumbled on one I was going to create several years ago...So I am using it instead.  My fault--did not keep the email and forgot password--
    • Rasheed Walker for Kris Jenkins Jr.is what i am actually referring to in that particular post  all those #'s you are referring to are athletic #'s & Monroe Freeling had or has an impressive combination of size & raw athletiscm & it has nothing do with his size or athelticsm that is preventing him from being a day 1 starter in the NFL technique is where he struggled at the NFL combine & not only scouts but analysts alike also viewed him as more of a developmental type of player rather than a day 1 starter  go take a look at Will Campbell transition from the SEC to the NFL another first round LT that was drafted #4 overall by the New England Patriot,s.Will Campbell was a three year starter at  LSU & was thought to be one of if not the very best LT's in the SEC  & compare his SEC carrer to his rookie season in the NFL? just because you played good in the SEC at LT does nescarrily mean you are ready to start at LT in the NFL day 1 & or your rookie season  & one last thing i think you are jumping to conclusion & somehow assuming that i do not like Monroe Freeling ?which could not be further from the truth .what i do not like is the idea starting a player who is not ready ...just saying
    • I'd 10x rather play the NFC North than NFC West.
