Great Cam interview with ESPN Magazine

I hope he stops because he's currently setting himself up for failure. I should have not watched that. I just ate and feel like barfing now.

" I want everyone to rise up to my level".

"Well my man put up 270 I guess I gotta put up 280". Well there's our problem.

Our QB's competing for yards instead of points. Right attitude, wrong goal. I am all for the attitude. But you need to wait and start winning before you say things like this. I can't believe people are actually still drinking this.

Take a lesson from Smith. He doesn't talk poo without backing it up first. FIRST he does something, THEN he talks smack.

Says the guy, who hides behind an Alt.

I'm pretty sure that was an example, not only does he want to out pass do someone he also wants to WIN.

Do you have any idea how pathetic your whole charade is? Would it it hurt to put things into the slightest bit of context?

What the hell is wrong with you people?!?

When Cam said he wanted out of the house, he meant the house of losing... not the Panthers house, he was very careful to clarify that (but it won't matter to some). His point was that a Lion will not be broken into a house pet and he won't be broken into accepting losing.

When he talked about wanting to throw for 280 if Dalton throws for 270, he was simply giving an example of how the success of other QB's motivates him to step his own game up.

Thought it was a good interview.

I won't lie he said some great things and some things that can definitely get him looked at in a weird manner. i.e. "A house where losing is accepted" ... We may have been losing and what not but I doubt that this franchise just rests on their laurels and "accepts" losing (if we did we wouldn't have even attempted personnel changes.) I also don't like when he always gets upset about the "we'll get them next time" attitude. I think it's great to have a winners mentality, but at the end of the day one team won't win...play your entire ass off, it just might not happen period...that's like if you skip out on parties, spend all of your time studying and don't even watch TV...but when you don't pass the test are you really going to beat your ass over it? Personally I wouldn't, I damn sure wouldn't be content but I know I gave it 110%. Then again I guess that's why he's where he's at making big time plays in the NFL. *Sorry for the auto biography lol

He's not talking about the franchise. He's talking about the players. And my guess is some of the players have come to accept losing as just a part of it. The Panthers will continue to be a losing franchise until they get more players and coaches with his attitude.

True I barely even wanted to touch that topic b/c I'm not on the sidelines with them. I just highly doubt players like Steve, Olsen and others just accept it now. I do understand where he's coming from though.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
