A father tells how his son got a ball from Cam

I love these players for the simple fact that they actually interact with the fans.

Sadly, Cam did not think of this himself. There was an article early in the season...a coach ( I think Shula?) had to tell Cam to give back....give the ball to a kid. then he started. (Who can link to this?) So, it is a contrived image thing. Cool for the kids though.

The Lambo Leap is contrived but that does stop the fans from loving it. You really think those kids care who told Newton to give the football away? Shula did it one time, Seems Newton choose on his own to do it on every touchdown. Not just his own.

doesn't matter who thought of it, it's now a panthers tradition. i would love to see this become a custom that's followed religiously... you get a touchdown, the ball goes to a kid in the stands, period.

When you are giving credit to someone for starting something (which some have done in this thread) it kinda does matter who thought of it.

I had thought only one person said Cam started it, but I don't think it really matters that much... He's still doing it, so he must like it.

Of course maybe he's being forced to, I don't know.

You're correct, I was too lazy to actually look back and see how many did it. I agree it really doesn't matter who started it but to say Cam did is just false. It's the principle of the matter

It wasn't contrived when he gave that HOF ball to Katie. I'm sorry, but this is the one time I disagree with you LadyPanther.

Just wanting to be honest here. It will become a cool tradition...but not Cam's idea. If someone can research, I think Shula ....but the right person should get credit. Not being negative....but giving credit where it is due.

It was Shula, but he only told him to do it after scoring against Washington, and only that one time. Cam was the one who started doing it with everyone's touchdowns, and Shula actually told him to hang on to Katie's ball.
