Steve Smith is now 32nd in all time NFL receiving yards

Just letting you know. He has 10,278 total receiving yards. The closest active player Steve can overtake is OchoCinco with 11,059 total receiving yards. If he has around 1300 yards again next season, he could rise to be around 23rd-27th all time by the end of next year.

In my opinion, Steve could get to around 5th all time if he does play 5 more years (5 more seasons of exactly 1000 yards actually puts him at 15278, placing him at 3rd all time) it all depends on how long he can maintain his current level of play and if he wants to play into older age while taking a reduced role in the offense.

Randy Moss is currently 5th all time with 14,858. Jerry Rice is first with 22,895 (the closest non-retired player to him is TO, and he is still 6,961 behind Jerry)

    • There probably isn’t an orthopedic surgery that has had more improvement in technique and outcomes over the last two decades than the acl repair. Because of its importance in pro sports and the sheer number that surgeons do there have been lots of opportunities to practice 1. Better techniques - arthroscopic v open surgery means people heal faster  2. More training - all sports med surgeons have tons of experience doing them 3. better imaging - later generations of mri are more sensitive  4. better therapy - PTs have gotten better at rehabbing them and the theories of rehab have improved a lot. No idea about brooks in particular tho, but I’d describe that overall situation as “not great”
    • If Freeling or either of the Utah OTs dropped to 19 I'd be more than happy honestly. Our OT situation isn't great with an aging Moton at RT and a mess of a situation at LT if Walker goes down at any point in time.  What I'm expecting the Panthers to do is probably draft another weapon like Sadiq or KC Conception. That's been their track record in drafting R1 thus far. None of the defensive talent projected to be around 19 stands out to me. Unless they just want to draft a LB early (Rodriguez,  CJ Allen, Anthony Hill, Jake Gollday).
