David Gettis Will Be Dirty Next Season.

Recommended Posts

He hauled in 114 passes for 3187 yards and 33 TDs in a single season of Madden Franchise mode for me.

I'm telling you, this is a sign for things to come!!

(And for those wondering, I play on All Madden, the hardest mode, so don't question that. It's a sign from the heavens.)

Right, because the world revolves around madden.

I know this is all tongue-in-cheek, but the reality of Gettis' injury is not all negative. Gettis relied on his speed everywhere he has been. The knock on Gettis coming out of college was that he is a body catcher with inconsistent hands. That is something that can be improved with reps, and working on his hands was the only thing he could do for a while.

I would advise not to make him into something he has never shown he can be. He is a sixth rounder who is a role player. A #2 WR. 300+ yards. Of course, that was with Clausen and you could double that with Cam, but be patient.

I was confident he was going to be great before the injury now I am just hoping he is able to recover his abilities 100%. You never know what might happen (like TD for example).

Honestly TD is as case of hurrying back without time to heal. He rushed back and got hurt, then after that is was just down hill. Still with most ACL injuries the player comes back 100% if allowed to recover fully. The one we really should be worried about his Beason. His injury was much more complex than a ACL tear.

It's not kosher to compare a video game to the real game. I know what you meant though. Gettis did show some hope and promise.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
