BCS NCG: Bama vs LSU

Now my personal opinion with football has always been QB play is the deciding factor. Due to that fact I do believe that OSU is the better team between the two. I understand people believing that Bama is the better team though.

My overall biggest issue is that if you take everything and switch the names of the conferences this year... the Big 12 being the SEC and visa versa I am 95% confident that We would not have two teams from the "Big 12" playing each other.

See with the past champions, besides Auburn, a great QB isn't needed when you have a good defense. It's a team game. So I am not sure deferring to the QB is the best route.

See McElroy, The Golden Calf of Bristol, Flynn, Leak. They have been good QBs but not world beaters.

Resumes aside, who do you think is the better team OSU or Bama?

so you actually believe McCluster and Cobb were better college receivers then Woods.....

Way to completely avoid the point.

However, yes. McCluster was one of the most dynamic players of this decade in the SEC. He had nice stats and did much more than even they showed. But since he played in the SEC I guess he MUST have been a loser, right? I can do it too.

You being angry at your team for losing is supposed to show me how objective you are? What about all the times you've shown your bias? (this thread for instance) No..No I'm not buying it.

and what about all the times you've shown your bias?

Well The Golden Calf of Bristol, and leak were very good college QB's... You don't have to be a good Pro QB to be a good College QB.

I answered that question all ready. I don't believe that Bama would move the ball enough on offense, OSU will get multiple Offensive chances, enough that thier playmakers would make plays and outscore Bama... Just my personal opinion though.

No, I actually was one of the biggest AJ Green supporters on this board when it became draft time....there are plenty of excellent players in the SEC. Claiborne comes to mind, best DB in the nation BY FAR. There are also plenty of vastly overrated players in the SEC, as there are in every single conference, and every single team. I have nothing against the SEC honestly, I've watched plenty of SEC games and enjoyed them. I do have a problem with the belief that if it's not the SEC it's not worth a damn....and sorry if I believe USC can hang with the SEC, you know since they've proven it in the past....Auburn '03, Arkansas in '04 and '05....

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
