Welkers drop wasn't anywhere near as close as that and you can see the person replacing Welkers stats was Gronk and Hernandez's second half was better than his first. Nobody on the receiving core was replacing Smiths numbers.

Well Cam also stopped throwing for 500 yds a game.

Look at when the running game stepped up too. You'll see a correlation. Might also want to look at the wins/loss second half the season. We are a more dynamic and complete team when we can do both run and pass well. Its not Steve's fault. He didn't "fall off"

We won 4 out of the last 6 games and our RB's became much more involved in the offense. Even Rivera said that the only way Cam would learn the offense was to have him throw it a ton early in the season, because they already knew what they had in Williams and Stewart. We were winning games without Smitty having 175 yards and 2 touchdowns, that is a good thing.
