Thats not just what he said. He said he didn't think Newton was the guy because of that stuff. He started out with 'IF', but he took the leap

That's why I don't care to hear what he has to say. I don't care that he backtracked by saying 'he hopes hes wrong'.

I respect Mayock more than any other scouting guy out there. Sure hes whiffed on a few guys, but hes usually very accurate.

True. He also hits on some longshots. You have to remember, the teams themselves, with all the interview info and inside info that Mayock may not consistently have, only have something like a 60% success rate in the first round. Mayock, I would argue, is better that 60%.

A lot of scouts think Reiff is better then Kalil and is a better pro prospect.

If that is the case, I doubt either drops to us. I see St. Louis taking Kalil and quite possibly Minnesota taking Reiff. If not the vikings, possibly the Redskins or Dolphins (if they pick before us).

The dude's still the best. It's just the nature of the business to make some mistakes. I like this guy because his reasoning is always good. When it comes to fields that are a bit vague and unpredictable, you can't just hop on to individual cases and push it as evidence. In other words you can't just say things like "he didn't like Cam and Cam's good, so he sucks!" or "he liked Von Miller and he tore the NFL up!" because these isolated incidents don't really mean jack. What you need to look at is if his methods are well thought out, because in the long run, that's what's gonna give you consistency and prestige. Mayock is a great researcher and is humble enough to listen. I love the guy.
