Positional Draft Ratings Accroding to Mayock

The 2012 NFL Draft may be three months away, but the evaluation process is already in full swing. NFL draft guru Mike Mayock provides his early prospect rankings at each position. These rankings will be regularly updated in the coming months, but here is where things stand on the week of the Senior Bowl:

It's far too early in the process to apply rankings after the top three quarterbacks, but there are plenty of other signal-callers to keep an eye on. Some will be easier to evaluate than others:

Personally, I dont really trust Mayock's ratings. But, if there's something to this, we should have a good chance of filling need positions with quality players in the second or third if we trade picks. A lot of the players that people are salivating over, such as Markell Marten, Dre Kirkpatrick, Matt Kalil (who I though was a number one T), Michael Brockers, and Alshon Jeffrey, are rated lower than some might expect.

This also strengthens the argument that we should trade down and pick up later picks, such as an additional second and a third. I still believe we should go O-Line, though.

Kirpatrick's drop could because of recent arrest, but still Kalil at number two tackle is huge difference between most ratings, that have Kalil the number one tackle and many have him as the number two player in the draft as a whole.

Don't agree with the Kalil ranking. Kalil and DeCastro are the only sure fire offensive lineman in my opinion. I think Reiff and Martin have a lot to prove before I put them ahead of the two above.
