Let's talk about Mario Williams

As a State fan, I would love to see Mario come back home.

That said, this is never going to hapen. Maybe when he finishes his next contract and is just looking to get a ring with his home team before he retires.

This is the NFL though, careers are short lived and you have to make your money while you can. Just like CJ this past year, Williams will not (and should not) take a pay cut just to play for his hometown team.

Some team will throw a ton of cash at him, and I will root for him where ever he ends up. (as long as its not in the NFC South)

The only chance we have of Mario coming here is if he just really wants to come to back NC and would be willing to give a major discount to make it happen. There might be a 1 in 10 chance of that happening if the team was located in Raleigh, seeing as he already has a home in the area, but with the team still being 3 hours away the chance probably jumps to more like 1 in 100.

Haven't you seen the youtube video of Mario's driving?

More like 30 minutes away, max

Never say never. They were gonna make Pep highest played D player in the league. We're not cheap.

It's not a matter of being cheap, its that to fit him under an already tight cap, he would have to take a discount.

Now, if they franchise him and he hits free agency next year, when the new TV deals kick in, then we definitely could (and should) make a run at him. But, this year it is just not feasible.

I'd love to have him, but he is way out of our price range.

if by price range you mean, draft picks than i agree. here's the deal. i do NOT see Houston letting him be a free agent, in other words, hope he likes the franchise tag. now if they dont tag him, then i say get him and pay up, BUT Houston isnt stupid, they wont let him walk away for free.
