College, Pro or NASCAR?

I'd say college, but I'm sure it's regional.

Ask a New Yorker, and he'll say Pro football/basketball. Ask someone in Nebraska, and they'll say college football/basketball fan. Ask someone in Mooresville, and they'll say NASCAR. So based on that breakdown...overall...I'd have to go with college since there are many states that have no real defined Pro football/basketball allegiance and others around them in their immediate area to despise.

This..

Very Regional

Northeast - Pro and it's not even close. College rivalries barely exist. People live and die for pro sports....literally in many cases.

Southeast - College and it's not even close.

Overall nationally I would think it is college as well but as big as the NFL is and MLB in the Northeast it's hard to be sure.

I'm kinda lumping all the college rivalries together in this. And not so much number of people as intensity. Ohio and Michigan fans, for example, hate each other with the fire from a thousand suns.

Pro? Other than the really old rivalries (Bears-Packers, Cowboys-Redkins, Raiders-The World, etc) I don't know if it gets near that bad.

NASCAR? That old thing you did as a kid where you'd put two wasps in a jar, shake it and watch them fight...That works with NASCAR fans too. Just walk into a gathering, say something like "Jeff Gordon sucks" then step back and watch the fireworks.

I don't have any hatred for any particular NASCAR team or driver. Use to, but my interest in the sport has lessened somewhat over the past few years, since my favorite driver has retired.

Which would I rather see destroyed by a meteor? The Dean Dome, Cameron Indoor stadium, or the new Cowboys stadium? Well, I can't really decide between the three. :)

In my opinion, the college sports rivalries are the most intense, although with the conferences shifting the way they are, that might change.

    • I almost never watch a Panthers game sitting down through the commercials. Redzone used to be the only way I'd watch football and now they have ads in that too. Since the DirecTV version of Redzone was shut down with Andrew Siciliano I'm really not as into it. NFL football is changing and I think the allure is dropping. Too many other things people are into these days and it will be knocked off as the top dog in American sports eventually.
    • I will forever hate TJ Watt for nuking his shoulder on purpose and changing the trajectory of this franchise for a decade.....FUG TJ WATT fwiw To OP point "THE BANK" has to be rocking again this weekend.  Seahawks are beatable, we took it to the Rams, should've beat 49ers so I don't think it's crazy to think that Seahawks take us lightly and can get a huge W come Sunday. Keep Pounding
    • This is the reason.  After that Super Bowl in the rain a while back, they look at Domes unless it’s in a favorable climate.  A Super Bowl brings so much money to a city it’s ridiculous.
