Brockers didn't even actually participate in bench press...

from the above linked article...

What is also being disputed is Brockers forty yard dash, which was posted as a 5.36 while 3 teams reportedly clocked him in the 5.08-5.19 range in the event.

One more puzzling aspect of this particular prospect's posted information is the fact that Michael Brockers has never measured in at less than 6′5″½ and he was somehow registered at a posted 6050 or 6′5″ even. Something that is certain to be dispelled at LSU's pro day on the 22nd of March.

something is screwy here.

Seriously. The Brockers camp is disputing pretty much everything about the Combine.

I have no idea what to make of this.

Well once you declare, you're on your way. Going to be a lot of eyes on his Pro Day. It's like they want to completely discredit any conclusions drawn from the Combine. Hard to believe the NFL was so sloppy, but who knows? When these players come out early now and their stock falls it can be a bigger financial hit than it used to be. Sounds like they are going to have to prove it all on the Pro Day to keep him in the 1st round.

I think that his camp are making excuses for him because Poe had such a good day, and now Brokers isnt the #1 consensus anymore.

I dont like the excuses. He had his chance to lift, but chose not to do it. Teams got blown away by what Poe did, and now he wishes he would have gave it a shot.

Also, why didnt he lift? He is either scared that he wouldnt perform at the level that everyone thought he would, or he is injured. Either - or, it is bad news.

i was wondering how it could be spun negatively on brockers.

thanks for showing how.

I just don't understand how it could be thrown out he did 19 and didn't participate. How does that even happen?

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
