I've been mulling this over and over for a while now. I know Rivera wants a QB that at least is in the mold of Cam Newton. I know that no one will EVER be like Cam, Derek Anderson can run the offense but not like Cam.

The route to be taken to solve this matter doesn't necessarily have to be through the draft. Jimmy Clausen is an after thought. Anderson may be gone as well. Don't know yet. So this brings me to what I was thinking about as a solution. It all depends on what the Vikings do...Why?

Do you remember Joe Webb? Yes, Joe Webb. The QB that was actually not bad against the Eagles. Upset them.

Acquiring webb would be the dilemma. I personally don't like giving away draft picks, but what exactly could we get this guy for? a 5th rounder? 4th maybe? Right?

Would he be someone you'd want in a Carolina jersey? I personally wouldn't mind it. Who knows maybe the Vikes will let him go?

Would there be any other player that emulates Cam that you'd want to back up Cam? If you say Wilson let me tell you, we already have a 5'11 QB that throws like him and he's playing Wide out right now..

one of my roommates is a vikings fan so i watched all their games this past season and i have to say this: joe webb is the fuging man.

that being said, i'm not sure he's the man for the job.

Have to be in the "He still has too much potential" crowd. I would think he may not be ready to settle for a back-up role at this point in his career. Would be worth a look should he decide he could accept that role.

I love Joe Webb. I don't think we will be able to get him from the Vikes. I know they use him in certian packages. I thought he was going to be the starter or at least start a few games and play well but they drafted a QB and that pretty much told us that the Vikes don't believe in Webb for the future.. I thought he showed some flashes of greatness his rookie year. I would love to trade Clausen and a 6th round pick for him but I doubt we could get him.
