If Cam and Stewart are healthy...i would say DWill has little chance of that

This ain't Foxball being run in Carolina either. Stewart will see the most reps. He probably won't see that either but will have better odds than Williams. Both should have 1000 all purpose if healthy...

Roy Helu had more all purpose yards than DWill last season.

We gave DWill 21 millions guaranteed, the Saints gave Sproles 6 million guaranteed. He would have been a perfect compliment to Stew, instead we get a back that is similar, but not as talented as Stew.

DWill will count 8.7 against the cap this season, Sproles 4.2.

Sometimes I get so confused by this FO.

When did Sproles ever say that?

Hurney made a terrible "football move", just live with it.

Hurney and Carolina have overpaid there own for a long time....it has pros and cons. This one probably has more cons than some on the past.

My question is why is his paycheck so much if he's not taking normal starting reps? Not knocking his skill, DWill is a starting caliber RB and would excel on any team in the NFL. However we also have Stewart, who is just as good (Better in some opinions) with a smaller cap hit and is younger. We need two RBs who have starting ability, but we don't need to be paying two RBs starting money. RBs are a dime a dozen these days.

    • I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range.  His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc.  is the going rate.  It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement.  Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers.  How many would you consider a success?  They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle?   FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues.  If not, they'll cost a fortune.   Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level.  There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance.  Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee.  I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about.  It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk.  Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk.  You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue.  You have a strong chicken little complex with this team.  Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper.  If his knee was really an issue they would have waited.  That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
