My Girlfriend Broke Up With Me - For Good.

I had driven five hours to see her this weekend. Tonight, she broke up with me over text. We were long distance but I really liked her and thought she could be the one some day. I'm in so much emotional pain that I really don't know what to do with myself. I'm too depressed to get out of bed and go to class or do anything. Any suggestions? I know I may seem like a little ****** to some of you but I'm an emotional guy with a big heart.

Get out of bed and go to class, would be a starter. Second f her, go out and have some fun, you're in college for fug sake. Hang out with your friends, do poo and get your mind off of her. Then before you know it, you'll have someone else in your life.

This.

It might be hard getting the drive to go to class, but do it. It's one more thing to occupy your mind.

Call up your friends, have fun. Whether that's going to a bar, a club, parties, get out there and do it.

Best way to get her off your mind is talk to other girls. If you've been out the game a little while you might be rusty, but do it anyways. It'll help.

All in all, try not to think about it right now. Once all the emotion is out of it, you can deal with it, and try to bring yourself closure if need be.

Protip, long distance relationships pretty much never work, from experience. Both parties have to be emotionally mature, and both have to be able to resist advances of the opposite sex. Good luck in bringing two of the same type together like that.

Try to avoid them in the future.

Let's be honest. She wasn't the woman you thought she was, if she broke up over a text. Not even worth spending any of your time thinking about it anymore.

Just do you.

there is no cure for a broken heart like traveling.

you can be completely crushed and broken and sunken into the depths of emotional chaos but when the seat belt sign turns on your past turns off and suddenly the snack cart is more important than your fractured heart and when you touch down in a foreign land there is exploration in your mind and adventure in your heart, and no room for heartbreak.

if you don't have a passport go get one, take a semester off school if you can afford to, buy a roundtrip ticket to central or south america and stay in hostels and backpack around for a couple of months. you'll never ever ever ever ever regret it.

Man the fug up and get on with your life.

As callous as that sounds that’s what’s at the bottom of all of the platitudes about keeping your mind off of it.

She wasn’t the right one or at the very least not at the right time.

You can’t change that.

Stop letting it dictate how you feel.

Pick yourself up, rub some dirt on it, move on.

Oddly similar to my ex. Drove 4 hours to see her, and she dumped me after letting me in and feeding me lunch. If you can find my thread on this (I believe I posted it sometime between December 10th and the 20th), there is some sound advice. Basically, within a few weeks, I'd already hooked up with a chick better looking than my ex.

Get over it. Get out there. Once you hook up with a chick or two, you forget almost entirely. Just don't get emotionally involved. You probably feel a ton of rejection right now, so getting emotionally attached to another female who will most likely not be into a relationship right now will keep you in that state of rejection and you'll feel worse. It sounds shallow, but go looking for ass, not love. We're in college, man. Life is short. You make it what it's worth.

    • If the losses were him not stepping up in key situations then it'd be a disappointment.
    • I'm well versed in the minutiea of the Canes radio broadcast system... lol I've been back in WNC for about 15 years now. And, until very recently, we would only get Predators games on the RSNs out here. So, radio was the only option for me to keep up with the team. These were the dark years, too. Maybe, once a year, you'd get to see us get smashed on national TV by some original 6 powerhouse. If you were really lucky, Jeff Skinner would bless you with one of his absolutely stunning pirouette passes to nowhere, before Wardo toppled over off his head, giving up a goal on his 70th shot faced that night for an inspiring 1-0 loss. But, that story sounds a whole lot cooler when Chuck Kaiton is telling it to you in real-time with the raspy drawl of a calving heifer! Before TuneIn or the Canes apps even existed, I used to have to find the one spot out in the back yard, where the hills and trees parted just right, that I could pickup 730(?)AM The Buzz all the way out in Catawba county. I'd sit in the shadow of the mighty Appalachians, staring out at the stars and getting high with stray cats, while being serenaded by the worst hockey you've never seen played in your life. That all, finally, started to change around the time TD bought the team. Part of that is due to the new NHL TV contracts and the constant reorganization of the RSNs themselves. Part, was me breaking up with that feral cat and moving to LKN to escape all the painful memories. The march of progress, and all that... I will say though, as much as I've criticized Dundon and as much as I loathe the existence of billionaires on principle, he has done an exceptional job of improving the fan experience, on the whole. Working with the league to expand the coverage map and bringing in outdoor games and all-star weeks has been huge. But, improving the quality on the ice (and of the ice) for all levels of hockey across the state has been even bigger! I forgot where I was going with all this, but... I'll still never forgive him for retiring Chuck K, though! HEY, HEY, WHADDYA SAY!!!!
