Bruce Campbell A Panther...

so if we attempt to improve... but fail... it's still a good move, cause yah know hey at least we gave it a try! LOL love the high standards around here

Goodson was going to be cut. If we had cut him, we would receive nothing in return for him. This way, we receive a prospect. We already win. Potential > Nothing every time. If the potential doesn't pan out, then we end up with precisely what we would have had with cutting Goodson. What Goodson achieves at Oakland is completely irrelevant to our situation. Seems Oakland had pretty much the same situation, so it's a win/win.

Early years

Campbell originally attended Hyde Leadership School in New Haven, Connecticut, where he was a four-year letterwinner and never missed a game during his career. He played defensive end all four years and started at that spot and offensive tackle his last two years. Campbell had 50 tackles, including 4.5 quarterback sacks, while blocking two PATs and one punt as a junior, and recorded 70 tackles, including six sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery his senior season in 2005. He subsequently earned PrepStar All-American honors.

Considered a four-star recruit by Rivals.com, Campbell was ranked as the No. 17 offensive tackle prospect in 2006.[1] He chose Maryland over Michigan State, Nebraska, and Virginia. However, before enrolling at Maryland, Campbell spent a preparation year at Hargrave Military Academy.

This is Campbell's brain issue.

If that is the case, it is also very possible that he has other issues. Any form of hydrocephalus can lead to severe cognitive impairment. For those of you not studying Neuro, it is associated with the inability of your body to dispose of Cerebral Spinal Fluid through the arachnoid space usually requiring a shunt or drainage device.

Until it is discovered and treated, it leads to pressure on the brain, just as seen in head trauma cases with internal bleeding. This pressure causes numerous cognitive impairments most often associated with processing speed and memory.

This is Campbell's brain issue.

Read it, did not really understand the med term, but it seems like a serious issue, maybe not something we all should be making fun of the newest members of our team, this guy has been suffering through this his whole life, and even with this disorder (if it is actually accurate) the guy was able to score an 18 on the wonderlic, I know this test isn't the best at rating players, but it does show that he can be coachable, maybe at a slower pace, but he is a freak athlete, and we do have a good support system in place for him and veteran leadership,

    • Thielen was a "dawg" like Dan Morgan likes to say. And they replaced him with puppies.  The analytics are probably saying this is more targets for younger receivers they are hoping to develop, specifically the first round pick from 2025. The eye test is going to show a very inexperienced group of WRs that are going to have some serious growing pains, for a 3rd year QB who has not yet proven to be the guy going forward.  It's crazy how in the literal first game of his NFL career, Cam Newton showed everyone he was a star QB and there was never any doubt about that. It almost didn't even matter who was around him, although he definitely had a serious lack of talent at WR for most of his career. Bryce is going into his third season and there is still a ton of doubt, and who is around him is seen as crucial for him to have success. I don't like it.
    • Everyone says AT was old and slow but the one thing he could do consistently was get separation. That takes skill and it's been a huge issue in our WR for years. And while Moore may be a great locker room guy and our WR coach may be a 12 year vet, he's not playing in the game. Vets like AT do what they do because they can see things others don't and exploit it. The DB interview I mentioned before was with Stephon Gilmore after his DPOY season. He was pulling the younger DBs aside showing them things you wouldn't even think you'd be able to tell from the way the receiver was standing.  Seeing what a DB or LB is biting on in game that can give you that half step advantage is huge and we don't have that experience in our WR group right now and I think it could end up hurting us. None of our receivers have lined up against NFL corners successfully on a regular basis. Having someone that can walk over and give you a tip to get a half yard separation can be a difference maker.
    • We only fielded about 4 NFL calibre players on that unit last year.
