Stewart + 9Th Pick = Wo Blackmon

Sure, let's just toss a great running back out there and our draft pick for a kid fresh out of college that could be great or could be nothing. Why not trade Cam to the Colts and grab Luck? I mean, he may be even better at QB. What is this crap?

Sheesh. Everyone gets all trade happy this time of year. And some folks only see that we're trading around mid-squadders and imagine that the winning of football games only happens when it comes to trading stars and acquiring first round draft picks.

Gettis looked good in a bad offense. In a better offense with a better qb he would have 20 30 more rec. And 3 more td. So Cra can screw that overated poo. If we trade up with stew and don't get caliborne. I'm throwing my tv. Again people blackmon isn't megatron, fitz, or aj green. There will be another 6'0 wr who runs a 4.4 in next year draft and the draft after that.

WR is fine, it isn't a team strength but it is not a weakness. Lafell really seemed to be clicking last year, Gettis will be coming back, and I think Smitty still has some in the tank.

As to Gettis being overrated, sure, there are fans that think EVERY player we have is better than they are, but there are a lot of perfectly rational reasons to be very excited about Gettis returning and thinking that this year need not be the year we spend a 1st rnd pick on a WR.

I agree. I think if Blackmon fell you draft him just bc he is BPA.....but outside of that we have other areas we need to fix

I say Gettis is young unproven WR coming off an injury.....who outside of running the deep vertical as a rookie didn't show much more. He did that route well..

Lot of people have inked him in as much more.

What part of that do you have a problem with?

A bold move that should be considered would be packaging RB Stewart and our #1 pick to Cleveland for their #1 which can be WO JUSTIN BLACKMON. :)

While everyone has us selecting a DT, the thought of a #1 WO to be groomed by Steve Smith would have Cam Newton LOVING the FO and wanting to stay.

We definitely need DT but this draft is deep enough to pick up a run stopper in the 2nd round (Worthy-MSU or Thompson-Clemson).

Imagine this: Smith, Blackmon, Lafell, Gettis, Pilaris (spelling)

SCARY!!! :D

The Panthers have decided to keep Stewart.

    • I agree. I’d make the move because I don’t see us sniffing the playoffs and let’s be honest TMac, Legette and Coker better be our top 3 future. If they aren’t and we need Thielen to replace one of them, then we need to draft yet another 1st round WR, SMH. Suffice it to say, Thielen isn’t good enough to get us into the playoffs so let’s get the young guys starting so we know if they aren’t good enough. We still have so many assumptions about whether players are who we need them to be that holding onto Thielen for 3-7 wins isn’t worth passing on a mid round pick (3rd to 5th/swaps). We’ve had some success with later round picks/UDFAs and need depth.
    • If you move Thielen I think you almost have to keep Renfrow. You need some sort of veteran presence in the locker room and Renfrow would be good insurance in the slot. I'm sure we have Coker penciled in to start there but you also have to be keeping Coker in the back of your head as XL insurance on the outside if he doesn't step up. If he flounders again, I wouldn't wait too awfully long to replace him with Coker outside and slide Renfrow into the slot and keep it moving.
    • Playing the same role is different than having the same style.  Cam Newton and Drew Brees both played QB but arent the same type in any way.
