Michael Floyd On Sports Science

Blackmon was considered the best receiver in the draft all throughout the season and up until this week....and all of a sudden this guy goes from the second/third best receiver to first based on a pro day?

You're all on crack.

Blackmon COULD have character concerns. He was arrested at OSU for a DUI (I know, DUI's for celebrities are severely overstated by the media). I also remember him delaying a TD by 10 seconds by running sideways along the goal line....with 9 minutes to go in the 1st quarter. Again, not a huge deal - but when he gets paid and his ego gets stoked, there is no guarantee he will behave.

I'd like to think he won't be a Desean Jackson type prima-donna, but it wouldn't shock me.

Floyd however, would be a nice pickup if we don't go D in the 1st. I love him, but also have caution for a different reason. Notre Dame doesn't tend to produce great WR's. There are currently 3 in the NFL: Golden Tate, Arnaz Battle and Maurice Stovall. I hope he bucks the current trend bc I like him a lot, but just pointing it out.

    • I never thought a second look was even necessary. I was begging the football gods not to have us trade up to the 1st pick. And damn once we did it was a thoroughbred vs a little pony.    If you have a perceived generational player in the pool and you have the 1st pick, you just don’t trade it. In the first place. But all this Bryce drama - which (understandably) takes over almost any thread, just like this one - would never have happened if the team was not sold to Tepper.
    • I agree. I understand why he did though. And surely he had his parents in his ear who have always gone out of their way to make sure he always had the best and the least amount of adversity around him to that point in his life advising him to do so. Where I take the most issue with it is when people who just want to be sycophants start listing off other QB's who didn't throw at the combine and you don't even make it through half the names before your eyes roll right into the back of your head realizing every single of those QB's who didn't throw already clearly showcased the necessary prerequisite physical talents needed for the position.
