I don't really expect Ryan to be majorly offended or anything, but this is the kind of thing that's a little surprising to hear from someone associated with the team.

Maybe this illustrates why scouts usually make their comments anonymously.

Seeing that quote out of context is the issue I think. I'd guess he is saying that as good as Ryan is, Matt could be better relative to their respective positions.

I'm sure the quote was a response to a specific question about the two.

Im still hopin that the rumors of MIN & STL wanting somebody different come true. I know its an extremely long shot, the odds are very low, but Im watchin the draft hopin he falls to 9 so I can cuss up a storm when we dont take him...I know it aint going to happen, but whats the point if I cant hope in all this bullshit pre-draft speculatin?

Stupid comparing a center to a LT. If your LT isn't bigger and more athletic than your center, you've got some problems.

But, is he comparatively a better LT than Ryan is a center? That's going to be tough to pull off.
