The Avengers Movie

They were spot on with the dynamics between everyone. When my only gripe was a little too much comic relief, they did their job!

Put a group of normal alpha males together and sparks are bound to fly.

Throw in superpowers (and the egos that go with them)? Look out.

you know...

The more I think about this flick the more I need to see it again in the theaters.

Mark Ruffalo and "the other guy" really tore it up on screen and that's no mean feat when you look at he fellow cast members.

I really don't know that Marvel could have done a better job casting these characters and as I said before, Whedon did easily lived up to his rep.

I've seen it twice now, really like this movie. I think people are undervaluing just how horribly wrong a movie this massive could have gone. The acting was on point, and the battle scenes felt like it was a comic book come to life.

May 3, 2013.- Ironman 3

Nov. 15, 2013 - Thor 2

April 4, 2014. - Captain America 2

I figure the sequel to the Avengers happens in 2015 or 2016.

it has one very long arc that spans at least all of season 1 and enters in to season 2 peppered with individual trust issues and personal struggles on the team as well as several small arcs. its very complex and interwoven for a superhero cartoon

the first 10 episodes are so-so, but it really picks up speed after that

i wouldn't recommend it to just anyone, but i think its better than JLA, mostly for the reasons you mentioned above, too many self contained episodes.

you definitely don't want to watch YJ out of order

the pilot is borderline unwatchable though, especially with all the OMG WE'RE NOT SIDEKICKS U GUYS

it gets pretty dark at times though, especially with some of the secrets members of the team struggle to keep

totally fantastic movie. start to finish just awesome.

dark knight is the epitome of dc comics. detective comics, ie, film noir. it is intentionally more serious whereas marvel is more wondermont and fantasy.

give me marvel any day of the week save the dk graphic novels.

Very good movie. I'm a huge Marvel fan and I think they got the Avengers just about spot on when it comes to the characters strengths. Hulk was portrayed for what he is...an unstoppable beast. I really liked Norton's Hulk but Ruffalo's version was just as good. Maybe a Planet Hulk or World War Hulk in the future???

Wasn't Thanos one of the Heralds of Galactus? Will the next one involve the Infinity Gauntlet?

I just saw it. Unfortunately I didn't see the end credits. What happened in the end?

They were 2 extra scenes at the end....

an alien basically saying the humans were stronger than they thought, camera pans up and theres Thanos smiling because of a challenge.

and then the last scene where all the Avengers are sitting around a table in a diner just eating. Well, all of them except Cap'n who looks like he was asleep but Chris Evans had to hide his beard because he was already filming another movie when they shot this scene.

Ive tried to find videos of them both but it seems like Marvel has them on lockdown.

Nope. The Heralds are:

The Fallen One

Silver Surfer

Gabriel the Air-Walker

Firelord

Destroyer

Terrax

Nova

Morg

Red Shift

Invisible Boy

Stardust

Praeter

Nevertheless, I doubt Marvel touches Galactus anytime soon with the way it was botched in the Fantastic 4 movie. There are quite a few stories I would love to see the Avengers movies tackle but the biggest ones all involve Spider-Man and Wolverine so they won't get touched.

    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
    • It was always a matter of time with Cam’s playing style and a shorter shelf life than passers that protect themselves. I suppose Cam could have still been playing in 2028 ten years after the hit took place, but he would need to have evolved as a quarterback and become more of a passer than the dual threat maestro he was. It’s sad because it makes us think of what could have been, but I do feel it was always a matter of time until all the hits took their toll.
