Is Arian Foster What Deangelo Williams Would Be If He Had More Carries?

I watch both of these guys plays and I see a lot of similarities, DWill is faster and Foster is more physical, but I see a very close resemblance in running style and vision. Could DWill have that kind of production with as many carries as Foster has?

YES! but only with a comprable running scheme. Our running scheme wasn't our major focus last year, the passing game was. With Fox, our running scheme was the major focus and it showed... and NO I'm not saying that I prefer Fox. What I am saying is that our O-line was not set up to be dominant in the run game. We used the run to set up the pass. The Texans use a very nice run blocking scheme that opens up holes for Foster, our running scheme was pretty basic. I look for us to become more balanced this year.

I think Foster has better hands. If you add Williams' and Stewart's numbers and then multiply by like 0.8 (because either one of them alone wouldn't be as good as they are together due to fatigue) I think their stats would be better or at least comparable to Foster's.

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
