Frankly I have given up on Otah. What does that mean? It means if he comes back and is a baller this year I will be suprised. But then you have to think, this is his contract year...how much do you think Hurney will pay him? Should he really be paid a fat contract when he really did not play much of his first contract and had a lot of injuries? Hard question to really answer, hard to trust Otah is reall in this.

Rivera has no ties with anyone and his system does not rely on vets like Foxs did which I think is great for competition. I love he calls poeple out instead of Fox's fuging we'll take it day to day and see how he is doing later bullshit.

If Otah comes back and plays well, I don't see how he gets a fat contract due to his injury history. At this point he'd really have to distinguish himself in a huge way from Bell (and perhaps Campbell). And, I mean huge. If he doesn't, a fat contract simply couldn't be justified. If he has a decent season, then he may warrant a good contract, but not a great one. Just getting through the season without getting bitten by the injury bug ain't gonna do it under Rivera's way of thinking. For what it's worth, watching the way that Rivera is handling his business makes me aware of the bigger picture pf what a championship team is supposed to be as opposed to latching myself to certain players at all costs.

BTW, thanks for pointing out what would seem obvious regarding the articles. I would think that a different take would be appreciated, especially in light of the quality of recent off-season topics.

campbell can swing out to tackle if need be. pollack and hangartner provide rotatable depth at guard (one of them will likely start if campbell does go outside.) silatolu is all but a lock at a starting spot. bell is depth too.

taking silatolu and grabbing those guards in FA was insurance for otah. if he plays and has a career year, awesome. if not, we cut has ass/use him for depth and start playing with our other options.
