IN THE STARTING BLOCK: One player that isn't being brought along slowly is rookie guard Amini Silatoluicon-article-link.gif. The Panthers' second-round pick, who is learning a new position after playing tackle at Midwestern State, has been running with the first team for most of OTAs.

"The idea is to get him in there and have him become a part of what we want to do from the very, very beginning," Rivera said. "He has gotten better each week. It was slow initially as he learns the position, but his athleticism really shows when he gets a chance to pull and get around the corner. You can really see the impact he can make for our team."

"Amini has a lot of potential," Kalil said. "He can be a really good player, and he's coming along. It's tough for the young guys to come in here – there's a lot thrown at them – but we're excited for him. He's working hard, and time will tell."

This comes to no surprise to me, and most other users. But for the guys on draft day saying he wouldn't even be able to read the playbook or make the team, here ya go.

I really hate having to agree with the rayzor, but this is probably close to the truth. Or at least what the FO was hoping for. They saw the athlete not the student.

Getting him out in space is going to be fun to watch. Wish we could see the eyes of those DBs as he Amini barrels down on them.

    • They are already making the Pickett signs.  It s a matter of time!!
    • The most damning assessment of Hubert... We've had so many guys transfer out and be key contributors elsewhere, including guys that Hubert just flat out refused to play because he won't develop a bench. He's gonna find his five and he's gonna run them into the ground and then wonder why his team blows leads. Well, they're dog ass fuging tired is a big part of it. Isaiah Denis will probably be in this list next year. Top 50 recruit, competing offers from the likes of Kansas, Ohio State, Tennessee, etc. and we basically never saw him. High proved to be a competent player when he was forced into action after Caleb Wilson went down. He played five minutes last night and I don't think any after half even though Veesaar was visibly absolutely gassed down the stretch.
    • And just for shits and giggles ...
