This article made my day...

I'm thinking our D isn't championship caliber yet and it might take us one more season to put together a deep playoff run.

Our special teams cost us 3 games last season. Had they not blown the Minn, Cicago, and Ariz games we would have been 9-7 last season. And that was with a god awful defense . With the additions of Edwards, Beadon, Davis, and Kuechly the defense should be much better. If the offense does not regress, there is no reason this team can't win 10-11 games.

Its not meant on how things really work. Its a wild estimate. I could predict that the Raiders will win the superbowl this year and its just as valid as predicting the Packers to do it. I understand the amount of uncertainty at this point, but really there is uncertainty at every point of the year. If all predictions were accurate they wouldn't play the games.

Not trying to rag on ya but the article is about which team of a group will win a superbowl first, not who will win it this coming season, thus making it even more a shot in the dark. Its just a silly read meant to get across the point of which teams the writer thinks are on the rise and it uses a clever mechanic to draw in more readers and interest.

I don't have a problem with the article as long as people understand that, as you say, it a prediction with little factual basis and little to justify his position that Carolina will beat out all those other teams. He didn't even consider which division we play in versus some of those other teams that play in easier divisions. Nonetheless, as you said, it is just one man's idea of what he thinks will happen. Don't get me wrong, I would like to drink the koolaid and think a Superbowl is just around the corner but then again I thought after 2003 and then 2005 that we would be back there by now. We all see how that worked out. I am taking Rivera's advice right now which is to not believe the hype and understand that until we at least make the playoffs, talks about winning the superbowl before other teams is premature at best.

the more hope . the more disappointment in the end possibly

i hope less and less fans have this type of defeatist and weak-minded mentality and i certainly hope that no players on the panthers ever feel like that.

screw setting low expectations or being afraid to set high ones out of fear of being disappointed.

that is a pathetic mindset to have for any fan base or really any part of life.

If you have your Franchise QB and a top notch coaching staff. You will be a playoff team. So believing we will make the playoffs this year is not that far fetched. And everyone knows. Once the dance starts, anyone can be King of the Court.

I will say this. Once the playoffs do start. I like having a QB like Cam leading the way. Multi-dimensional QB means multi-headaches for opposing Ds. I am all for anything that worries the opponent. If they are thinking, they ain't playing.

I absolutely believe this year is just the first year in what should be a long line of playoff appearances. As has been stated many times before. If our Defense and Special Teams had not let us down. We very well could have been 8-8, or even 9-7 last year. It is not out of the realm of possibility that we can improve upon that total by 2-3 games. Giving us 10-11 wins.

Hey, if I can think it. It can happen. And GOOOOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

we will win a superbowl soon then multiple ones after that. Our coaching staff is the best it has ever been, we have a very good core, a lot of which are young players. We have Cam Newton, who never disappoints. We will attract great players. Just a great time to be a panther fan. This team is about to explode and be a dominating force.

    • To all the analysts who said "Caps in 5", thank you for telling us their departure time.
    • We won't know the answer to this for a long time. Reality is, Caleb has been the consensus #1 in that draft for years. Bryce was a similar situation, but mostly the same. He was not the clear and obvious #1 that Caleb was, but most teams had Bryce at QB1. The Panthers were always going to be terrible Bryce's rookie year.  I don't think DJ Moore's presence would have changed anything about that offense, as our guards, center, and left tackle were getting demolished on nearly every snap. It's clear Caleb's dad was trying to do everything possible to ensure Caleb didn't end up in Chicago with Eberflus. It's hard to imagine that he wouldn't have done the same, but probably more publicly with our situation, considering Carolina is an easier target for the media than Chicago. We can all speculate, but it's impossible to tell who is going to have the better career on May 16, 2025. If either QB doesn't pan out, we have an easy answer. If both flame out, the bears clearly won the trade, but it wouldn't have really mattered anyway. We all know how we win the trade. Candidly, even if one of the other picks we gave up ends up being a hall of fame player, we don't know if the panthers would have taken that player anyway. All you can do is make the best decision you can in the moment with the information you have. I really like Bryce Young, and I'm glad he's a Carolina Panther.  The only way to win in the modern NFL is to have an absolute dude at QB. I personally am happy that our franchise recognizes this, as I remember times when they did not.
