Ron Rivera Interview on Fox Got Game

Recommended Posts

Norman is a rookie that was known as a gambler and cheater in coverage. Let our 5th round pick go through a training camp before you have him blanketing Julio Jones.

Want to see how confident he is when Smitty beats him like a drum. If he can take it, learn from it and compete that would be excellent.

You'd rather Captain be trying?

I've seen enough of Captain as a starting CB. I sure as hell hope we aren't penciling him in as the #2 CB. SOMEBODY, ANYBODY has to push him to the nickel role.

He still never brings up the UT position where I still see a question mark.We are certainly in need of that number 2 cb and safety.I get the feeling that either Hogan is not healing as thought or I have heard a couple of players question his work ethic. It is still way to early to judge Norman and Butler does nothing to impress me except as depth.

Dude. Let it go. He's said it many times. He thinks we're ok at DT.

You can't cut every rookie tacke that doesn't look like Ndonkeykong Suh their first year. Seriously, I think this year is a "let's see who has developed" year on the D-line.

one way or the other, the secondary will be improved.

these guys have a year under their belt in the system. we've got more competition. we have a much better secondary coach that fits the system.

no reason to panic or to doubt that rivera knows what he's doing and will have the right guys on the field doing the right thing.

See, this is the type of poo I've been worrying about. If we have Munnerlyn penciled in as our #2 guy, then we can kiss any hope of a decent defense goodbye. We didn't even bother to bring in a decent CB FA.

if captain wins the starting gig again, it could have to do with him finally getting good coaching in the secondary now.

even if he hasn't improved (which is very possible), if the defense as a whole is improved then what happens at CB2 isn't going to cost us games.

what happens at one position isn't going to kill the defense.

    • They are 1 and 9 against the  Bucs in the past 10 games. the Panthers go as young goes.  QB1 ‘s are suppose to dictate and overcome  and elevate Everything the QB does affects every part of the team and Bryce is uneven. Canales and Bryce have  an uneven relationship too  as for Evero, the only thing that might save him is the injury to Baker’s left shoulder and oline injuries. I don’t even know how he is out there   I really feel their season ended last Sunday Canales’ division record isn’t great   Getting owned by the Saints and Bucs isn’t a good look
    • Frankly surprised by the amount of people that want to hang Evero. This was a defense that was almost universally considered the bottom of the barrel before this season started. We’ve managed to stat our way to the middle of the pack whatever that means. Those critical of the zone schemes, what do you want? When even JC is getting burnt one on one by Olave you have little choice. There definitely have been moments where the zone blitz stuff has bit us. That said, are the third string linebackers (and nick Scott) covering poo anyway? This unit had only conceded 10 points going into the fourth quarter despite a litany of bullshit penalties on both sides. Them over performing is the biggest reason we are still in playoff contention.
