Every season we are wrong

Almost half his career (7 of 15 years) he has been below 80%. last year being his best of those 7. I disagree about his resume. It says he has a 50-50 shot at being exactly what he was last year.

He has kicked 81% in a 15 yr career.....Kasay is also at 81% over his career. We got him from Seattle where he kicked 88% with that franchise.

He was well above avg to my naked eyeball as far protection goes and he was better than that for the run. You cant tell me Kalil was responsible for blowin holes open by himself between the T's right? Replace a full grown man that his one of the top in his field (top 32 at least) with a kid and youre going to have problems. Wharton could play LT, he wasnt awesome at it but he was servicable. To me, Hatter, thats badass, that requires a lot of skill.

Don't get me wrong. Wharton was a very solid player. And replacing that with a rookie is a risk. Wharton'scanility tovslidebput to tackle made him more valuable. However, he was far from an elite guard.

Kasay missed most of his field goals from 50+. I don't think Mare attempted a 50 yarder last year.

This. Even then, he's still the best long distance FG kicker ever when you consider how long he's been kicking and how many he's attempted from long range. I wish people would f**king read statistics before blurting out bullsh**. Kasay and Mare are nothing alike. Not even in the same ball park. Kasay is out of Mare's league. Mare couldn't hold Kasay's jock.

Its confusing to me how you can extrapalate all of the variables in every scenerio for each and every one of those kicks by just looking at ink on whitened wood. I myself and many others have watched Mare lose many games for teams, not just the Panthers. For me that dates back to when he was with the Giants.

I think he missed like more than one XP or maybe he missed like from the 15, I cant remember. Since then Ive seen him blow a lot of games, more than the avg kicker.

He was there 3 seasons. The 3 before that he went 59%, 72%, and 83%. I'm not saying he can't be good. But as I said, his resume says he is just as likely to be bad as he is to be good.

Everyone knows Mare was poo last year.

I simply said his career resume shows he doesnt suck that bad.

Career - he and Kasay are both at 81%. Kasay has always been better at 50+ than Mare....

My prediction for what it is worth is that we will improve to at least 8-8.I think our defense will improve but I think we will still struggle in the secondary.I see some improvement on the DL with Edwards coming back and see only marginal improvement at the UT position. At DE I also see marginal improvement with a less than adequate pass rush from the front 4.At Lb we should make a significant improvement .I dont see T Davis making an impact until mid season if he can stay healthy.

On offense I think we will remain good but may slide some from last year. You can bet that DCs will finding a weakness in Cam if there is one to be found and will have to shadow him and not over pursue him which should be good for the run game.At WR they better double team Smitty which will hopefully give LaFell and the unknown 3rd more opportunities. From what I see of Gettis it may be midseason or longer before he is 100%.Depending on the health of Otah, which is a big if will determine how well we will run to the right.Rivera sees something in Bell that I fail to see.Tolbert caught 50 balls last year so I see at least 40 receptions this year for some of those tough shorter routes in the middle of the field and in the flats which I hopes adds another dimension to our offense.I have seen many comment that we will not miss Shockey but I disagree.Even Rivera stated it was a question as to how we will fill that void.I Think we will be better at special teams but wonder if we are willing to part way with Mare.He cost us 2 games last year so I feel it is important we upgrade the kicker even if we have to eat his contract.

I think any time you predict wins and losses you can not do without looking at the schedule. With the exception of NO I believe both Atlanta and Tampa will be better this year which factors into my prediction. The remaining schedule is pretty brutal with many of the teams we are playing improving over last year.

The bottom line is we are still short on talent at several positions and have one of the worse kickers in the league and unless we pick up some players we will be a 500% team which is an improvement over last year.
