We have so much riding on our smaller college draft picks

Some guys play as rookies, some take 2-3, and some never get it. I do however believe that Rivera and Co. are counting on Amini, as a 2nd round pick, to solidify the left side of the line. If you are going to plug a rookie into the line, what better place than between Gross and Kalil? He is known for having great footwork to move through traffic. He can be All Rookie. Why not?

Now as for Norman and his 5th round status. He has his work cut out for himself. I will say that he picked a good position to be a 5th round pick. He shows something. Can he build on that? I am in his corner.

One more thing regarding guard play...I think I'm more worried about Hangartner at RG than Amini at LG. Geoff had a couple of pretty rough outings late in the year.

Some of the criticisms directed at Bell should have been leveled at Geoff, as he was a swinging door at times.

I saw Geoff help Bell a lot at times, sometimes Bell would get overpowered and Geoff would have to help him.

Absolutely true. More times than not, Geoff was helping Bell. However, he had a couple of games where he was totally dominated. As it was late in the year, it may have been fatigue or an unreported injury, but Geoff was much better earlier in the year.

    • KP is not a straight up carbon copy but they look awful close to me.  T
    • You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).
    • In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
