SB Nation Offensive Line Rankings (Panthers #6)

NFC South Rankings

1. New Orleans Saints** (4th)

2. Carolina Panthers (6th)

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (14th)

4. Atlanta Falcons (26th)

6. Carolina Panthers

This is one you probably did not expect to be this high on the list, but it might be the best run blocking group in the league. Cam Newton was only sacked 35 times, and that should drop as he gets more experience. Rookie Amini Silatolu fixes the guard spot.

I posted last week that Phil Steele had them rated as the #1 OL unit in the NFL - which made me immediately question if he had watched any Panther games last year.

That Vikings game was probably their lowest point last year.

That game irks me more than any other..... BS call when Cam got to goaline.....and craptastic D that let a HORRIBLE Ponder go 99 for 99 on 3rd down when he clearly couldn't even figure out his plays most downs

    • KP is not a straight up carbon copy but they look awful close to me.  T
    • You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).
    • In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
