Kuechly in Coverage

I really think that is going to be a strength with him. He was covering a lot today in the passing drills and for the most part kept up with the TE's. Can you imagine, covering TE's a strength of the Panthers? I like.

i saw someone in here say they expected keuchly to be second in in sacks this year, but i'm not sure why you'd want to take him out of coverage. i'm sure he'll be a part of more blitzing and rushing the passer than he was in college, but i think they'll probably tend to keep him in midfield to deal with what goes on there and free up other guys to cause mayhem in the backfield. he's pretty much the ultimate security valve. he makes it safe for the others to take part in stunts.

This was the #2 best quality of him during all draft coverage behind his tackling abilities.

I'm not surprised, but at the same token... Did not expect him to learn and fit in this quickly. This dude seems legit!

Also, a tidbit that I think that's being overlooked... He did 10 push ups today when he missed a pick. Usually only Elite athletes that expect to make those kind of plays punish themselves like that. He's not doing it for show or to gain respect. It's honestly who he is. Beason does it as well.

Very likely that my next jersey will be a Keuchly.

Really like what I am hearing about Luke; the force is with him.

If he can contain the likes of the elite TEs in this league and be a reliable sideline to sideline tackling machine every Sunday, this defense will turn around quick assuming the defensive front four have made progress from last season.

Can't wait to see this kid suited up come week 1.

    • Im not angry. Im disappointed. I want to win. Anyone who has watched Bryce play the last 3 years and thinks that this team has in any way seriously addressed the glaring deficiencies in our QB room is deluding themselves. It's been explained ad nauseum how our FO has protected Bryce from feeling even slightly challenged or pressured. A GM without an interfering owner would have brought in another QB to at least give the team a better chance at winning. We just gave an extension to a QB that only got 3k yards on the last play of his 16th game of the year. Indy admitted AR wasn't good enough by bringing in Jones to compete for the starting role. Tennessee drafted Ward to replace Levis. Stroud hasn't repeated his 1st year and Mills' performance was decent when he filled in after Stroud's injury and some were calling for him to remain starter. His future there is still in question even with a 5th year. We should have done the same, especially given that Bryce was benched.  Bringing in Grier is just another glaring billboard pronouncing the obvious. Dave Tepper still has his hands in the daily operations of this team. He controls the QB room because Bryce was his pick. Until Tepper finally admits that Bryce has barely lived up to the standards of a NFL Qb, we're going to spend our days reminiscing of when we were mediocre and finished 9-7.  It's just discouraging. We'll address every position on the field except the one with a glaringly obvious shortcoming. I had hoped Tepper really had backed off. Bryce's 5th year, Dalton's 2 year contract then trade, Kenny Pickett, Will Grier, Jack Plummer, and  Hendon Hooker say otherwise. It already feels like it's going to be a hard year of Panthers football to watch.
