Time to confess about the 2011 draft

I dont usually post, but last year I did post that I wanted Dareus since he looked and is simply a beast, and simultaneously filled a need.

I was totally against Cam ever since I heard Entertainer and Icon. But kept an open mind with the pick and went into my "In Marty we Trust" bubble and hoped for the best (I did the same thing this draft when we took Keuchly, I wanted us to get Cox).

And sadly, my thoughts last year were for Gabbert if we were going for a quarterback, he just sounded and looked like the complete package from the videos and interviews I read and watched.

I'm a man and I admit when I'm wrong, and I'm glad I'm wrong!

From about mid-February on, I was all in on Cam.

I'm with this guy. I was broken up about luck staying in school. And I'm an Oregon ducks fan so Cam wasn't exactly my favorite person. I didn't like fairly and thought green or Peterson should be the pick. After the Super Bowl and I had time to watch highlights and other stuff I fell in love with cam and wanted(knew) us to take him #1.

For me it was two scenarios,

A) Trade with the Bengals for a boat load of picks and take AJ Green.

B) Draft Cam.

I honestly was happy with either, and as it turns out both were solid rookies. You have to remember draft day last year it was all but certain Smith wanted out.

I just really did not want Gabbert!...I wasn't sold on Cam, but knew we had to take a QB because usually that's the only position worth a #1 overall pick. I sold myself on Cam a few nights before the draft. I was just worried about that whole Gruden interview and him not being able to call a play

I wanted Peterson, Dareus, or cam ....once I heard the organization liked cam I fully supported him

Also I was completely anti gabbert ... I always said he was a taller pickles

I still want AE to play some QB. Pipe dreams I guess and know I am not an app state guy. I just like lefties and I think he has a good arm.

oh yeah......that was my first choice to trade away since I wasnt sold 100% on anybody. I guess thats why they are them and I am me.

I remember comparing Rothelisberger to Cam as well.

I didn't get the Russell/Young comparisons., and I knew if we didn't take a QB we would be in the same exact position the next season.

Wanted PP until I truly thought about it.

Best thing PP could've done for us? A solid CB with a lengthy career.

Best thing Cam could've done for us? Change the game forever, and almost single handedly change this franchise into a potential dynasty.
