8/7 Training Camp "Tweets" Thread

Like I said, he is entering his 3rd yr as a WR and has zero receptions. I can name plenty of QBs who switched to WR....who at least got on the field and caught a ball.

How is anyone butthurt? He has been the definition of Irrelevent as a WR

I've stated a few times now that I'm done discussing this. This isn't a thread for this. So consider this my last reply on the topic.

Armanti has always practiced well. Will be a wasted roster spot if he makes the 53. Real NFL DB's will abuse him. He is balling against our DB's which should scare everybody.

I'm sure he's more comfortable and relaxed going across the middle in practice when you're not peeking out the corner of your eye waiting to be obliterated.

It seems like a lot of our bubble wide receivers have played well. Ajirotutu, Green, and Edwards have gotten the most press but it seems like Brenton Bersin and Darvin Adams are doing pretty decent as well.

My only question is who would one of the above mentioned receivers replace?

Don't give me that seven wide receiver junk, the Panthers have rarely carried seven wide outs and with the offense as potent as ever there is no need to carry a seventh wide receiver that won't see the field.

The only way I could see any of the above mentioned players making the roster is if Gettis is not ready by week one, otherwise I don't see the room.

Regardless, it's nice to have the competition.

Also don't pull for players to fail, especially your own players. That's ridiculous.

when have the panthers had an offense that was a spread in the past? i just wouldn't base the number of WR roster spots taken on what has been done in the past. that has nothing to do with what they do now.

I'm not basing my opinion on that at all, I was just stating the fact.

I'm basing my opinion on the assumption and technically fact that our defense needs more help than our offense, so why waste a roster spot on a seventh wide out when we can carry an extra defensive player.

    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
    • I think most people like XL from a personal standpoint. I don't think he's stupid either. Although if we are being realistic he is lacking in football IQ at this point in time and it cannot be disputed that he has not taken working on his craft seriously at all times given the body of work on the field. It speaks for itself. I myself have defended him at times given the circumstances of our QB room. But he is now in his third year and 25 years old. We are not in a position as a franchise to go around babying anyone especially first round draft picks. He needs to take his position and his football career seriously or he is going to end up selling used cars somewhere. I hope he realizes this and takes an extended break from social media because that mess certainly isn't going to increase his net worth if he ends up out of the league. And these hanger on types will disappear quick too once that money dries up and it surely will eventually. We'll see how he responds.
