I was refering to the players selected before Clausen (and just noticed Gronk was one of them), but you are correct Sir, both TE's are pretty darn good.

None of the QBs from the 2010 class aside from Bradford have amounted to much. They were hyping up it up as the "Year of the QB" pretty hard on ESPN iirc lol

For where we were at in the draft and for what the team needed, I liked the Clausen pick. I don't like that he hasn't panned out, but being pissy about it would be the equivalent of being pissy that your scratch off ticket didn't win. That draft class as a whole was disappointing after the 1st round save for a couple of gems.

Easy to look back and figure out who done it after you've seen the movie.

I wanted a pass rusher instead of Jimmy. We could have ridden the Matt Moore train a little longer. Or gone the FA route. Moore is way better than Jimmy.

But really what if Moore did ok enough that we couldn't have drafted Cam the next year? Jimmy served his purpose.

He still wasn't the best choice. At the time we still had Matt Moore, so we didn't NEED a QB. Remember at the end of 2009 Moore played great and so everyone had confidence in him going into 2010. I even had a signature I made supporting him. We had other needs such as DT, remember Nick Hayden? As well as TE, DE, and CB.

I would've much rather spent that pick on someone else at those positions, even if they may not have been BPA, than create a QB controversy. It was probably one of the factors that lead to Moore's downfall here. He had a pretty good season last year for Miami where he was healthy and had consistency staying in the lineup instead of being pulled out every other game in favor of someone else.

There were some here who followed Clausen through college and had doubts about him. Calling him Captain Checkdown and saying how long he held onto the football as well as his noodle arm on long throws. There were others that pointed to the fact he was passed over by the rest of the league in the draft. Sometimes twice...If those guys could see it, why couldn't Hurney and our scouts see it? Why do some people suck Hurney's d**k when a draft pick turns out good and still come to his defense even when they turn out bad? It's like he can do no bad in some people's eyes when really he is the pure definition of average. Put him on a pedestal if you want, but if he's so great in some people's eyes when it comes to the draft, then he should've seen how bad Clausen was right?
