Finding our Trindon Holliday

We all saw what Trindon Holliday can do Saturday and it sure would help if we had a KR that can shift field position.

Jeff Demps, coming off an olympic silver medal, has filed paperwork for the NFL. He originally decided to pursue the Olympics instead of the NFL. But now it looks like he'll be a FA. He and Holliday are the 2 fastest players I have seen in CFB. They likely won't be more than just returners but it's a nice luxury to have.

Before any one says anything about Adams being our KR, he has very little experience at that position. Dennis Johnson was the KR. And like noted, they are different positions that require different skill sets.

Not sure we'd have the roster spot to carry Demps but it's something to look at.

Trindon Holiday is in his third season and has one single punt return for his entire career. He's been placed on IR an been cut and resigned. He doesn't have any experience.

There's a lot more to it than just being fast.

Sure it has to do with being decisive, making people miss, following blocks. But it sure helps to be fast unlike Pilares. In now way am I saying make room for Demps by cutting Pilares because Demps will be nothing more than a glorified receiver out of the backfield/slot WR. I am just saying if we really wanted to upgrade our KR he'd be one of the best options available.

I am very well aware of how long Holliday has been in the league and his situation. Not sure where I said he had experience. He is something special in the kick return game.

Yeah Hester is no good otherwise.

He is good against a good special teams. He is great against bad special teams. Against ours he was damn near unstoppable. If he ever asks for a trade it probably be to someone who played us twice a year.

pilares is fast, but not demps fast. pilares could be a very reliable return guy but i wouldn't object to giving him some competition at the return job. imo, demps has a higher ceiling.

i wouldn't have an issue with it if we brought in. in fact i would love it just to see some people's heads explode at us picking up another RB.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
