I just can't see us keeping a guy like Armanti around, Seyi maybe as the 6th WR until Gettis is fully recovered. During Gettis' rookie year he showed more play-making ability vs LaFell who didn't really begin to 'flash' until last season. With that being said I think the last spot is his as we'll feature mainly 3 WR sets. I don't see Hogan back on IR again, a lot were really excited with what he could bring and he looked good in his limited time last season (HOU). Just wondering why the set backs...? I'll take the vets at the safety spots over Pugh, Nelson, and Campbell. Also Medlock over Mare, we ALREADY know/knew Mare wasn't clutch, so why move forward with him since it seems Medlock has better range on his FG's even though he hasn't proved his worth in the NFL yet, but hoping he will.

As far as Nakamura at starting FS my concern is how will he hold up in coverage as the deep safety at 5'10....I know he's a surer tackler than Martin but that's the only concern, maybe he'll see time in the box with Godfrey over the top in known passing situations.

If David Gettis starts the season on PUP I would bet that they keep Armanti Edwards as the 6th wr, but based on play if he would get cut or not when Gettis come back in 6-8 weeks.. I sure dont want Seyi Ajirotutu to make it if Gettis is not ready..

With Gettis not practicing and two injuries to recover from, it could be quite a while before he was available to play--- much less make an impact. As good as he looked before the ACL, it's certainly not a lock that he'll look near as good when/if he makes it back. Of course, you'd hate to have him dropped and look good somewhere else in a few months......

Ones that I do not agree with:

1. Do not think there is any chance Barnidge gets cut

2. Not sure that we only carry Williams, Stew, and Tolbert. I think one of the other guys makes it.

3. Don't know much about Bryant Browning (OL). Surprised to see him stay and Pollack go.

4. Would hate to see Gettis and Hogan not make it....but if they can't get on the field damn soon I think it is a real possibility.

5. I would not keep Clausen. I would rather see Armanti play QB in a pinch than ever see Clausen on the field. He is just that bad.

i think we'd be more than OK with just those 3 RBs. whoever they can keep on the pup between vaughn and poole they probably will just in case. if they do keep one of those two around, their play on STs will be the deciding factor.

as far as gettis and hogan...i don't see a problem keeping either of them around on the PUP list. see how the other guys at their positions work out and if gettis or hogan would be an upgrade at either spot then activate them. we might benefit from having a couple fresh options out there at that point in the season. they might come in handy and make a late season push more successful.

Given the injuries we have had at RB over the past few seasons, I definitely could see 4 making it. However, I agree with you that only keeping 3 is a real possibility....as Tolbert can play either RB or FB.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
